About Me:
I'm Paul. I go to college, and I'm a Japanese Major. I joined this site to gain experience with communication in Japanese, and I hope I can improve.
I'm a pretty nice guy, I think. If you want to talk, don't hesitate to talk to me. I like to listen more than I like to talk, but I've always got some ridiculous story worth telling, if you ever feel like hearing something interesting.

Language Exchange Requests:
I've been studying Japanese for six years, but I'm nowhere near perfect.
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
I've just started teaching myself how to play Bass, and I've been singing for years.

I learned Japanese by taking some classes at school. I did that for about 3 years. Then I began work in a Japanese grocery store...that helped ALOT...all my coworkers were Japanese, my boss was Japanese...and almost all the customers were Japanese...it forced me to speak it all the time.
I took a few more advanced lessons at the Nichibeikyoukai...and now I reside with two amazing Japanese roommates. I used to attend a Japanese church...but now I go to synagogue.
Basically...the secret to learning the language...is just throw yourself into the community here as much as you can. We are lucky we live in America where alot of Japanese reside. Look into your local Nichibeikyoukai or Consulate General's office...become a member...learn about the events that go on throughout the year...and GO to them.
This is how I learned Japanese.
