About Me:
Throughout my entire life I've always had an ecletic set of friends with a variety of cultures, religions, political views, languages, and lifestyles. I have been lucky enough to see the world through the eyes of my wonderful friends. I think its interesting to get to know as many people as you can in this life because it teaches you about them and it teaches you about yourself. I'm an open person with a story to tell and I'd like to hear yours as well.
Requests:
Meh, surprise me.
Language Exchange Requests:
I've taken many years of Spanish, but I am by no means any where near fluent. I speak very basic Spanish. I can read and understand more of it, then I can speak it to someone else.
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
Photography: I'm no professional, but I love taking pictures. I think they show the world what I see or think about it. My professional friends have shown me how to get at the heart of the subject matter and to express myself more in my pictures. My favorite things to photograph are nature, old buildings, food, and family.
Cooking: I've been cooking for myself and others since I was ten years old. There is nothing more satisfying then preparing a meal for the people in your life that mean something. About two years ago I started photographing the meals I prepared to create my own personal visual cookbook and to remember all the good meals and the good times I had either making them or serving them for friends/family to enjoy.
Writing: I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I like to write in really crowded spaces where I can draw inspiration from the crowd or the energy in the room, or when its really late at night and everything is quiet and I can see the world really clearly. I write a lot of poetry and I've just started getting into writing more short stories.
Playing the piano badly: I took an intro course to piano in college and I learned the basics because it was one of those things that was on my list of things to do in life. In my much younger days, I've also played the Violin, the clarinet, bells, and sung in choir. I do not play or sing any of those these days.

Favorite Music:
Whatever is on the radio.
Favorite Movies:
I heart Netflix. I have seen an insane amount of movies! One incredibly boring summer, I decided that before the summer ended, I would see 100 movies. In 3 months, mind you, my final total was 106 movies. However, two years ago, after a really bad experience in a movie theater where the movie was completely ruined for me and I wasted 10$ due to inconsiderate movie patrons (as well as almost equally bad experiences at other theaters), I just stopped going and haven't actually seen a movie in a theater in over 2 years. All my friends wonder what will be the one movie that I see that will break that streak...it hasn't happened yet...
Favorite Books:
Too many to quantify, but the last good one I read was Dean Koontz, "Velocity."
Favorite Quotes:
The best is the only thing in this life that you should settle for.
It will all work out in the end...just you wait and see.
Sorry, when I get nervous, I tend to blackmail people -(UB)
