Nope I didn't know you were a baptist that's awesome. I grew up in a pentecostal church, I don't know if you've heard of our madness lol.
It was a real positive experience, but after I hit age 13 I went on my own spiritual journey, practicing buddhism for awhile and then I get really caught up in Islam for a few years. then I embraced Bob Marley's  One Love philosophy and grew my hair out and let it lock up like a rasta :) Nowadays I don't subscribe to any one organized religion but I do find great comfort in the teachings of all great spiritual leaders, from Jesus to the Buddha to Mother Theresa, I think they have been great people one can learn much from if they keep an open mind. And of course I still read and find strength in the Bible, since I grew up being kind of forced to memorize Psalms and verses all over the place, it has really stuck with me :)

Wow I think it's great that you're going to become an addictions counselor. Then you really must pay close attention to your Teacher's teachings since he was all about serving other people :)

I was just hanging out with my childhood buddy earlier today,
and he was a strict baptist growing up. It's crazy how much he's changed after his 1st year in college  though, he was telling me how he's actually having trouble NOT drinking, I never thought I'd hear this from him since his close uncle died from a liver failure due to drinking too much and too often. But sure enough my friend has started drinking due to to peer pressure. He'll be okay though, he's not in denial about it going in this 2nd year :)

I know you're not as much of a computer geek as me, but do you have msn? Maybe I can catch you on sometime so we could chat :)

Yeah Bob Marley and John Lennon definitely had alot in common. They had that same innocent ideology that somehow the world could come together in unity with love. In a way, through their music, I'd say they
did bring a sense of unity :)
