Like to read and write letters. Not looking for "romance"​ or to meet - just looking for pen-friends.​ You can write about your day, your family, the compliment someone gave you, the driver who cut you off, the weather, the past, your mood, what you bought at the store, share the ups and downs - anything you like. Oh, and maybe I should mention - I'm an expat Yank in the UK! NOT looking for RELATIONSHIP​S - happily married! VERY happily married. I assume my husband is happily married also, but I know for sure that I am.

Everyone's life is full of stories - you tell me about you, and I'll tell you about me. NO under-40s,* NO cyber-tales.​ Happily married, so I don't want to play footsie, I just like "writte​n conversation."​  ;-) *If you were born after 1968, I will not reply - sorry! FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO CAN'T COUNT - IF YOU ARE NOT AT LEAST 40 YEARS OLD, DON'T BOTHER WRITING - I WILL NOT REPLY!!! I have to ask: do most people read these profiles? If so, why do I keep getting requests for relationship​s, or attempted messages from 20-year-olds​, or friendship requests from people who can't be bothered to write profiles of their own?

Reading and writing... mostly. Hooked on everything historical: nonfiction, fiction, sites, films, research, museums, etc. Traditional stuff like knitting and cooking. Non-traditio​nal stuff like higher maths and orienteering​.

Classic Rock: Beatles, Moody Blues, CSN&Y, etc. Genuine bluegrass. Also enjoy opera, weird as that may seem.

Again, lots - B&W silent comedies to Lord of the Rings and everything in between. Anything Laurel & Hardy ever did after they were teamed up. Some of the more unusual small films, some musicals, some film noire - does "eclectic"​ fit here?

Don't have a favorite. Generally watch History Channel, Discovery, Documentary TV, the occasional mini-series (Rome, Cranford). No patience for poorly-writt​en programs.

Too many to list! Everything from biographies to histories to thrillers to Dickens to Steinbeck to Ann Rule, fiction and nonfiction ... well, everything! To paraphrase Will Rogers, "I never met a book I didn't like."
