My name is Emmi (actually Emilia, but everybody calls me Emmi..) and I'm 27. I'm a biomedical laboratory scientist (I know - it's a terrible title, but in a nutshell: I work with bugs and germs at the microbiology​ lab) and graduated three years ago from Helsinki Polytechnic.​ I live in southern Finland near the capital, although I've been born in Switzerland and lived there for six years. When I was younger I used to have several pen pals, and I'd like to refresh that custom again. So I'm really looking forward to getting to know YOU :)

I love writing letters but what I'm really after is a chance to get to know different people (deep down!) and who knows - even build friendships that last forever (okay, I admit I'm a bit dramatic ;). Snail mails, emails, chatting... anything goes!

I'm a beginner (and I mean beginner!) at Italian, so I won't complain if I get help with it on the side. But please be a patient teacher :-)

To name a few interests: animals, icehockey and soccer (watching, not playing ;), travelling, hiking, the Italian language (music to my ears :) and different cultures in general, taking pictures and putting them into an album :)

And these I also love: company of true friends, my nieces, Audis (don't own one though!), good music and movies, Johnny Depp (he is the best!), icehockey players (like Petteri Nummelin and Niko Kapanen) the Alps and the Mediterranea​n (and other beautiful spots in the world), Calvin & Hobbes

I don't have a GREAT passion for music, but these I dig (and yes, it's a very peculiar mix): kent, U2, Bon Jovi, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Green Day, Finnish stuff (like Irina, Maija Vilkkumaa, Ultra Bra, Mamba, Badding, Nightwish, The Rasmus, Sunrise Avenue, Apulanta, Uniklubi), Johnny Cash, ABBA (I never said I'm perfect ;), Eros Ramazzotti and also some classical pieces of music...
