About Me:

I am a well-read, educated, youthful man with many interests and hobbies. Included among those interests are travel, fine dining, hiking, backpacking, horeseback riding,  long distance running, the arts particularly music, dance, singing, theater, and cinema. By vocation I am an attorney, and by avocation I am a scribbler...I write stories and poetry for my own pleasure. I know a little about a lot of things and a lot about the things that really interest me. I think I would make an interesting and faithful correspondent.

Requests:

I would like to become correspondents with articulate and interesting women (only) from all over the world.

Favorite Music:

I enjoy all dramas from rock to classical, but if I was to choice one it would be classical, particularly the works of the great composers, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikowsky, Brahms, Dvorak, Chopin, Debussy, Handel, Haydn, Grieg, Rachmaninoff, Vivaldi, etc. In the rock and roll genre, my favorite groups include Queen, the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, the Eagles, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Loggins & Messina, the Beach Boys, the Dire Straits, the Loving Spoonful, Eric Clapton, and many others. I enjoy the blues, ragtime, Celtic music, folk, pop, and many other forms. I do not appreciate head banging heavy metal and I simply do not understand rap and hiphop...to me it is not music at all, but bad poetry at best.

Favorite Movies:

Tough category to list all of my favorites, from the early talkies (Public Enemy) to swashbucklers (Captain Blood) to blockbusters (Gone with the Wind), to oaters (Shane and Dances with Wolves) to thrillers (the Bourne Pictures) to the scary/supernatural (The Green Mile) to romances (Pride and Prejudice and The Apartment) to comedies (Some Like it Hot, The Russians are Coming) to great dramas (The Browning Version, Goodbye Mr. Chips, 12 Angry Men) to courtroom dramas (The Verdict, Anatomy of a Murder, To Kill A Mockingbird), to BBC presentations and foreign films to the movies of Hitchcock. Just too many to name.

Favorite TV Shows:

I generally do not watch tv, but confess to being addicted to 24 on Fox, the only "prime time" show that I watch any more. I cannot watch Law and Order without Lenny (Jerry Orbach). I do watch interesting PBS shows and BBC productions. I loathe and abhor the so-called "realty" shows which show no realty whatsoever.

Favorite Books:

So  many to tell in all genres. In fiction I must confess that Stephen King was my favorite author before his accident, and of the great masters I love the works by Jane Austen. But I also read works of nonfiction, travel books (Bill Bryson), biographies, and several magazines.

Favorite Quotes:

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

You are not finished when you lose, you are finished when you quit.

Look for the similarities but celebrate the differences.
