About Me:
My 'general' age preference in new acquaintances is 30-60yrs. However, if you think of yourself as having maturity & depth beyond your years-yet haven't forgotten how to be fun & wacky--I'd enjoy getting to know you!
I have one son, age 19, who is a very special young man--in addition to 3 canine kids--2 very tiny chihuahuas(f), 1 pomeranian(m).
Those who know me have said that I'm empathetic, sarcastic, witty, intelligent,no nonsense-yet silly as a loon if I wish to be. Moonchild/Scorpio rising(if you're into astrology). Background/education in social work/psychology. I'm a strong believer in life long learning; very musically oriented; have a powerful night affinity,& water is my friend.
Treasurer of peace & quiet, loud & rowdy,& everything in between. Gypsy ragamuffin, bag lady, sometimes formal--but always unpretentious. I'm as comfortable alone as with others...I can be suspicious, & cynical--but my trust is given liberally when earned. I strive to become worthy of trust also!
My sense of humour could be described as twisted/wicked-to goofy/zany. I am sometimes irreverent & sassy. At others, I'm profoundly considerate & respectful toward those who extend me the same courtesy & kindness. Member of a nontraditional family(my son's father & I married-divorced/remarried then separated)--yet, we've decided to continue sharing a household for the benefit of our son for the time being.
I am fairly open minded--still, I have my limits, like anyone else. Please,Be Honest! Seeking to connect only with persons who can respect, understand,& share similar qualities & openness about themselves on this path.... I am spiritual, not religious-& I appreciate study of various beliefs...& range from middle to left politically--when political at all.

Requests:
Seeking:
True, Soulful, Lasting Friendships...Honesty,Empathy, Sensitivity,Integrity,Authenticity, Intelligence, Great Sense of Humor, Creativity,an Open & Flexible mind(as much as one can be),& Compassionate Respect & understanding of my life as a person who struggles with chronic health difficulties.
Please: I am not interested in corresponding w/any of the following:
No thank you to--
married/attached men; cyber-erotica fiends, military personnel,business/financial scammers, swingers, or incarcerated persons.
Also, I have no compatibility with political conservatives or those with strongly religious mindsets.(Although I'm sure we could have some wonderful debates, I just don't have enough energy for that in my life at this time.)
I deeply respect & vigorously defend the rights of anyone to believe and live as they wish--so long as they don't try to force those thoughts & practices upon others, or use them to inflict pain of any kind.
***Sidenote: I am very uncomfortable with, & disgusted by persons who conduct themselves with a narrow, snobbish or elitist sense of themselves & their places in this world. In my humble opinion, no one is so sophisticated, cosmopolitan, or above & beyond--learning a thing or two & being humbled by something or someone--many times along life's long journey.
I'm not impressed by degrees, titles, money, looks, or anything else except the inner strength & beauty of others' minds & souls.
Looking to meet people from around the world...
IF- the right person were to ever cross my path--I hold a tiny shred of hope perhaps to find more than a friend one day(among the male gender, that is). BUT, I won't be holding my breath waiting for that to happen, hahahha!

Favorite Books:
I'll read nearly anything...except vapid bodice-ripper romance novels. Sometimes I just like reading about words (etymology)...yeah, I'm a nerd & I enjoy living with my eccentricities, & could develop a new one at any moment! :-)
Favorite Quotes:
Those with no sense of honor and dignity are best avoided.
Those who change colors constantly
are best forgotten.
The best way to be with those
bereft of the Beloved's qualities,
is to forget them in the
joy of silence in one's corner of solitude.
Shaikh Abu Saeed Abil Kheir - "Nobody, Son of Nobody"
-----------------------------------------------
"A donkey with a load of holy books is still a donkey."
----------------------------------------------
(The century we live in is a rotten century.
Nothing but cowardice and baseness.
The greatest murderers attend the greatest masses
And are the greatest favourites of the greatest kings.
Homage from the author to those who understood him,
And sh*t for the others.)
-Georges Brassens-
-------------------------------------------------
"The essence of love and compassion is understanding, the ability to recognize the physical, material, and psychological suffering of others, to put ourselves "inside the skin" of the other. We "go inside" their body, feelings, and mental formations, and witness for ourselves their suffering. Shallow observation as an outsider is not enough to see their suffering. We must become one with the subject of our observation. When we are in contact with another's suffering, a feeling of compassion is born in us. Compassion means, literally, "to suffer with."--Thich Nhat Hahn
-----------------------------
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
Calvin Coolidge (1872 - 1933)
