I ask a friend abouth her favourite words, they also come from a poem:
Malachit emerald green (ch is read like h)
Perłowy color of pearl (pronounciaton =peruowy)
Widnokrąg horizon (widnokrong)
Zapatrzenie - this is hard to translate , "stare" maybe, it's like when you can't see anything else
Strwożony - created
Fioletowoszary - violet gray

heres some more from me:
pożoga conflagration
kniaziówna - princess but not literally, it's kind of lithuanian title
rogoża - reed
brzask - dawn
jutrzenka - dawn
kobierzec - carpet but like more sophisticated xD
łowy - hunt
odmęty - abyss

You mean books in japanese? Hmm I didn't. We mostly read some boring essays in japanese in class. I guess my language skills aren't good enough yet.
But I've read polish translations of Abe Kobo, Murakami Haruki, Oe Kenzaburo, Endo Shusaku and so on. I can recommend Abe Kobo (I am writing my BA thesis on him), and Yoko Ogawa. Murakami Haruki is probably the easiest to read as he tries to make his writing avilable to foreigners. Also Yoko Ogawa is ok. But I haven't read REALLY good japanese book. My favourites are still russian or english.

What phrases in polish would you like to know? Here's a nice poem by Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński:
Chmiel na rogach jelenich
usechł i już się sypie;
w szybach tyle jesieni,
w jesieni tyle skrzypiec,
a w skrzypcach, byle tknięte,
lament gada z lamentem.

this is a poor translation:
On the wall — antlers, a hop
Is dried and is falling down;

Well after studying this for such a long time I am not really interested in the culture (I had to retake this subject lol) but it gaves me the pleasure to talk and read in japanese.

I watch japanese drama only in class. I hate those. But I sometimes read manga in japanese which I also hate but at least I learn some useful phrases.
Listen, is there something like honorific Romanian?
