I know I am older than the range you stated but I have always considered limits as guidelines.

I am a retired corporate trainer and for many years I taught business writing to employees. Now, you might ask, why would an employee need a business writing class. Because I found over the years that the typical employee really doesn't know how to communicate well because the typical teacher would focus on how many words were on the paper rather than getting to the point. Another gap I discovered is that most employees don't have a good grasp on grammer. I would give a pre test to see how many errors could be discovered and maybe half of the errors would be found. Now what does that tell you?
