About Me:
I enjoy interacting with people from different parts of the world who don't take life or themselves too seriously and who are not too old or grumpy to enjoy an occasional laugh. I find other people's different outlook on life and different way of life interesting. It helps me look beyond the narrow scope of my own life and interests. I am married and not looking for a new husband. I'm a Foreign Exchange trader and very much enjoy the ongoing daily challenge this presents. I'm 5' 3" and have green eyes. Please don't make contact if you have no recent photo of yourself displayed as I probably won't respond! I know the saying goes that one should not judge a book by it's cover but then wouldn't we judge a "coverless" book anyway merely because it has no cover??? Guess it's just human nature!
Requests:
As PenPals, we have the opportunity to learn to know each other from the "inside out" instead of from the "outside in" as is the case in the real world and this can sometimes be a good experience!
In real life, I enjoy watching people. I find our very diversity hugely fascinating and, on InterPals, looking at faces and reading profiles, is the cyber version of "people-watching" and equally interesting for me!
Cyber interaction can be compared to meeting somebody at a bus stop. We chat for a while, but then the bus comes and we get on. If we aren't seated together, the conversation is over. Sometimes we will sit together and chat but one of us may leave the bus at the very next "stop". We had a brief conversation and we passed the time, but we did not become "friends" as such. Once in a while a lasting friendship develops if we both find it comfortable to interact over a period of time and have sufficient ongoing interests to share, but here on the Internet that probably happens rarely. It's the "Internet bus stop."
We take it as it is. Sometimes we'll write for a while but then find we seem to have run out of things to talk about so we stop writing. It's pointless getting upset over it. That's just the way it is.
Feel free to exchange a few words between "bus stops" if you wish :-) Meeting new and interesting people can serve to expand our own, private view of the world even if only temporarily!

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
Interests include reading, gardens, puzzles, birdwatching, beautiful music, computers, learning chess, walking on the beach, the solitude and majesty of mountains and wide open spaces.
Favorite Music:
All lovely, soothing, relaxing, peaceful music and light classics, depending on my mood at the time.
Favorite TV Shows:
Strictly Come Dancing, Dr House, CSIR, Law & Order, Formula One motor racing, but generally watch little TV
Favorite Books:
Since my work can be stressful at times, I will occasionally read an interesting book (often fiction), for relaxation. I need to keep up to date with the latest developments in the financial world so don't read half as much as I would like to do.
Favorite Quotes:
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
"Being challenged in life is inevitable. Being defeated is optional!"
"Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one's values."
"You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her." Anon.
"Our ultimate freedom is the right and power to decide how anybody or anything outside of ourselves will affect us." - Stephen R. Covey
"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain!"
"To remain yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you into someone else is the greatest accomplishment!"
