Hi Olga!

How good are you in reading music? I have a facsimile photography of the first printed edition of 1642 right here which I could send you. But the notation is looking pretty different from today's notation. Anyway, I could send it to you, if you like. Unfortunately I do not have any recordings; I have just had a look at my CDs which contain music by Heinrich Albert.
These two -- Albert and Dach --  were close friends and a great team.
(Isn't Klaipeda in Lithuania, by the way?)

I am really happy to hear the German part of Königsberg's / Kaliningrad's history is no longer suppressed or denied. That was the last I heard about it many years ago. During the past years even several parts of the big library of Albrecht of Brandenburg have been rediscovered, spread all over Germany and Poland. The Königsberg library had been considered to be lost -- nobody knew what happened after the Germans had brought its content out of Prussia. That is really a find!

German at primary school -- wow, that sounds pretty tough! They do not only have to learn another language, but also another alphabet! Isn't that confusing when they have to learn how to write two alphabets at the same time? However, it is good to hear the school system makes the children learn foreign languages.

Have a good day ahead!

Nini

Hello Olga!

THAT really is a nice surprise to get a messge from someone who knows Simon Dach -- he is pretty unknown here, I have to admit -- and even lives in his city! It has changed a lot since these old days, though.

Do Russian children really learn English already at kindergarten? Gosh, that's really early!

Have a nice weekend!
Many regards from Beethoven's city,

Nini

Dear Olga - I am glad you like the poem. It is only part of it I posted here. The whole is on lib.ru. That is a really good source for literature! I like it very much. And yes, I agree with you: Brodsky is worth to be discovered. So both of us do have a task now, do we? :))) It is lovely you tell me you know the place!
Have a lovely Sunday, you and family! Barbara

Yes, my children likes Astrid Lindgren´s books. And so do I. Swedish children grow up with her characters and they are lovely! So your son look like Emil! Cute! When my children were younger we visited Lönneberga and the place where the movie was filmed. Great!
Take Care!  Sanne
