About Me:
Welcome to my profile! :)
I'll try to introduce myself.
The basic facts: female, 29, Danish.
Apart from that I'm a human being like any other, trying to find my way in this world and figure out the point of it all :)
Love being with friends, movies (mainly the non-hollywood-kind), music, food, nature, hanging out at cafés, swimming, watching soccer, computer games.. and lots of other things :)
Well, other than that I’m interested in a lot of different things. To mention a few, I really enjoy reading and - although it might sound a bit pompous – to learn new things about myself, the world –or ways of seeing the world, different sciences, new ways of thinking or things about my fellow human beings.
I’m also very interested in information technology, communication, languages and linguistics, history, sociology, politics and political science, the environment, development issues and other subjects like that.
I love nature, there’s nothing like the never-ending beauty of pieces of green, trees and the sea. Nature always gives me a sense of calm, and more of a peaceful mind in a head often filled with billions of thoughts.
Politically I would be placed on the left-wing. I would like to see (much) more social equality, I care about the environment and I’m a feminist –why everyone isn’t is beyond me, as equality between the sexes seems like such a self-evident notion to me.
As a person: I sometimes seem a bit introvert or shy, yet I also really thrive in the company of others. Maybe a bit of a paradox - but isn't everything? :) I'm in general caring, sometimes really entusiastic and idealistic, sometimes silly and with a rather absurd kind of humour(?), sometimes in a more gloomy mood, blahblah etc. Well, basically: I'm human.
I do consider myself open-minded with a sense of humour and interested in seeing new perspectives on things. And I try not to take myself too seriously :)
I speak apart from Danish, English, German, some Spanish, a bit of Turkish and bits and pieces of other languages :)
And just for the record; I'm NOT looking for a boyfriend!! -or a girlfriend for that matter :) And please no money requests either.

Requests:
Someone to talk about everything and nothing with :) Would like to correspond with people from all over the world, exchange thoughts & hopefully eventually become friends.
I prefer people around my own age though.
Since I tend to spend a lot of time in front of the computer anyways, I'm primarily interested in communicating via email. So, although I love the idea of an old fashioned, romantic, postal letter, it is in many ways much more convenient (and cheaper!) for me communicating via this medium.
If I've caught your interest, then please write me a long, interesting mail about yourself! :)

Favorite Books:
I really enjoy reading many different kinds of books.
I've had a lot of genre-book phases, like when I was younger, I read tons of fantasy. Later on I had my Latin American-literature phase and so on.
I enjoy different kinds of fictional books as well as non-fiction.
It doesn't hurt if a book has a philosophical angle :) -or is able to teach me something -about myself, society, a new way of thinking or whatever.
Entertaining books by authors like Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams will always hold a special place in my heart as well! :)

Hi,
Things are going alright. A lot of things happened in the last one and a half month. I was doing my apprenticeship, but I already finished it and then declined their job offer, which now leaves me time to dry those books I told you about (Burckhardt's History of greek culture was saved, but vol III is completely swollen, some other books lack their front covers, and with others I'll just have to be very careful, because the pages are all sticked to each other*); read something (I'm in a "between books" period); and...
well, do some random stuff (gotta find a needle for the turntable and it wouldn't kill me to start doing some sport again, and my guitar is getting dusty in a corner, and, the horror, I haven't seen Tarantino's new movie yet). Many plans, little time. And what are you up to this days?
Hope you are doing alright up there.
Saludos!
*easy experiment: leave some newspapers outside for a couple of days, during the rains. Then try to separate the pages. Those are my books.

thanks for the birthday greet! How are you?
hi there,
how are you?
It's Monica, 27 -almost 28 actually- from Italy. I am an engineer and I guess I'm pretty much of a human myself. Reading your profile I've noticed we have some few things in common.
Do you think it would worth to have a chat?
