My name’s Michelle (WOW SERIOUSLY YEAH I JUST READ THAT ABOVE!!! :D :D). And, wow yeah.. I guess you already learned all the other basic stuff above. Except for the fact that I am not​ Finnish, but a Dutch​ exchange student​ living in Finland. I'm originally from Geldermalsen​, a town in the middle of Holland and foreign people would probably pronounce it wrong, because you say the ''G'' in the bad way :D Dutch people are cool, because we pronounce the ''G'' and ''CH'' in the most coolest way ever. And.. that's actually the only cool thing about Dutch people I guess.

Okay, moving on now.
Most people think I’m funny. They always laugh. But maybe they just do that because I act so silly and my jokes are like.. very weird. My humor is very drigh, I don’t even know if that’s the right word. But I like to act serious and then I put on my Kimi Räikkönen face, which is really impressive, I can tell you.
I don’t like strangers, they’re scary. It always takes some time until they see my great and very cool me. I must say I’m improving, I start liking strangers more and more. Why would I actually like to know someone? Lets live a life with total strangers. Perfect.

I’m very fond of foreign vehicle registration​ plates. I love driving on the highway and coming across all these foreign cars with number plates I’ve never seen. My greatest experience was when I drove to Hungary. I saw so many different number plates that I was still happy when I was already back in Holland.
Sitting in a car is great anyway, the highway is the greatest place on earth. I love looking out of the car for tons of hours without being bored. I even do that when I drive through my hometown, while I’ve seen that too many times. It’s amazing. I see new things every time.

But I don’t like hugs. No.
Only hug me when you’re very sad or crying your eyes out. Or maybe.. don’t even do that. I just don’t like hugs.


Things​ I want have done before I die:​

  -  Own a Bull Terrier.
  -  Have really, really short hair.
  -  Paint my nails in the Dutch flag.
  -  Travel across the world, especially Scandinavia.​
  -  Learn fluent Finnish and even better English.
  -  Try to be less white than Marilyn Manson.
  -  Live abroad.
  -  Visit the Winter Olympics.
  -  Kick Al Gore.
  -  Recognize all foreign vehicle registration​ plates.
  -  Be quite good at Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.
  -  Speed skate a lot more often.
  -  Call my kid Risto.
  -  Call my other kid Stor.
  -  Come up with female names for my kids.
  -  Own a Manx flag.
  -  Hug Pekka Koskela.

Please, no people who are 20+. It’s just a weird feeling to talk to such people.
And well.. just the logical stuff: I’m not looking for a relationship​, I won’t give you any money, I won’t bare any children for you, etc.

Oh, and can I say I’m quite annoyed by all these people here on Interpals who are obsessed by the Asian culture, only because they like Asian music?
Oh well, I said it anyway :D

And well.. I prefer snail mail and people who like to write a lot. I write a lot, so I hate it when I get these tiny-winy messages back. I also prefer people who have something to say, and not just conversation​s about the weather and what kind of food your dad ate today. Though those are quite nice too :)
But of course, I won’t start snail mailing immediately when I barely know you and I’m also not looking for 1000 pen pals, but just a couple of close ones.


And I like Finnish people :D
Okay, that would’ve sound quite fluffy. But I'm living in Finland as an exchange student for 10 months (until late June), so it’ll be nice to get to know some Finns.

I've never had the dream to become a teacher, but if anyone wants to use me as one, you should ask me about my skills in Dutch and English. Especially Dutch, for logical reasons. I don't even know the Dutch grammar-rule​s (because I'm a native speaker, and then you have this great miracle that you just know what's right), but maybe I'll even dig my head in those to teach you them.

German?
Well, just leave that one. I’ve studied it for 4 years at school but I’m not very interested in it. I can understand it very well though.


I really want to improve my skills in Finnish. I can’t say I’m very good at it, except for some random sentences, words and the #1 favourite: Pikaluistelu​n sprinttimaai​lmanmestaruu​skilpailut. I worship that one, seriously. I haven’t even told yet that I like speed skating (pikaluistel​u), I should hurry with it.

I can’t say I really have some great profound hobbies. Seen the fact I’m happy with everything, I even enjoy watching foreign vehicle registration​ plates, so you know what you can expect.


My main activities are horse riding, the computer, photography,​ enjoying car rides (which includes the foreign vehicle registration​ plates), watching people with my mom at crowded places, counting the days until a new speed skating championship​ and watching sports.

I really like sports, but that doesn’t exactly mean I’m a sporty person myself, though I’m horse riding.
My favourite sports are speed skating (NO WAY!?), cycling and formula one. I’m really obsessed by speed skating, really, you should be warned. My favourite athletes are Pekka Koskela, Thor Hushovd and Mark Cavendish, for those who really wonder. And I like Heikki Kovalainen, he has a funny head.
Oh, and of course horse riding is also one of my favourite sports, I’d almost forget about that. But I never watch it on the TV, then I think it’s boring. Don’t ask me why actually.


I just decided that my favourite vehicle registration​ plate is probably the Danish one.

I like to read, but it takes some time until I finally grab a good book.
My favorites are written by Tess Gerritsen and I'm a Harry Potter-nerd.​
