Hello Marzia ! Well, thanks to begin with for the language compliments... and I am glad you used the word "easy to understand" for that. Understanding is the name of the game..whether we try our hands at understanding a religion or a science or a language or any human being..everything "ends" after "understanding"..
I agree with you that beliefs are personal and one should not tamper with others' faiths and fixations..however ridiculous they might seem to be from the other side..BUT, the example which you gave of "Davinchi" - (to be more precise it was Galileo- who proved the earth was round- and not Davinchi)- was what I had in mind..Didn't thousands before his time believe that the world was flat? And didn't it take one person like him, having unflinching faith in himself -ofcourse backed by his scientific calculations- that the earth was indeed not so ! So that's waht I was driving at..If millions belive in a God- and I do not dispute their right to do so- who created this universe- isn't it a very simple and strking question if I ask why he did so? Please notte..I am not asking HOW he did so..but WHY..which to my mind is more important than the HOW factor...
To every effect, there has to be a cause..without a cause..there CANNOT be an effect..I hope we all agree on that. Scirence has nothing to do with this postulation..its something very rudimentary..so what is that cause which is the reason for this Universe..for you..for me..to be here? If we know the cause..we also know the reason..right?
To my mind..this world is false..and whatever you or me or even einstein thought..is false..since truth can only be that thing which cannot perish..which is stable and unmutable..is there anything in the universe which fulfils these parameters?..NO...!! Even the Giant stars..after living their lives of a trillion years..collapse to become a black hole..atoms degenerate and vaporise into nothingness...and even we..after 80 odd years..are no where to be found..i
