About Me:
Just your average guy. I'm a loyal and trusting friend who enjoys meeting new people. I'm of average height with brown hair and blue eyes. I'm originally from Texas and will always be a Texan at heart, no matter where I live.
Requests:
While I have everything checked as far as what I'm looking for, what I'm really looking to do is make good friends all over the world.
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
I enjoy reading and writing about history, particularly American history. I am a birdwatcher when I have the time and I love the mountains. I enjoy nights out for dinner and movie or perhaps a concert, but also enjoy quiet evenings at home watching television or perhaps a movie, or sometimes just sitting quietly thinking. I have a desire to learn another language, preferably German or Russian. Oh, and I'm a high school science teacher.
Favorite Music:
I prefer country music, but listen to occasional rock, pop, jazz, and blues.
Favorite Movies:
Loved the original three Star Wars movies, and basically anything by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are to my liking. I also enjoy old westerns and some of the older classics. My all-time favorite movie is Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford (hence the profile title.) I like Bogart films and the occasional drama.
Favorite TV Shows:
Seinfeld reruns, wildlife shows on public television and the Discovery Channel, and history programs on the History Channel, Deadliest Catch, and I when I watch regular t.v. I tend to find myself on the TVLand channel watching the old classic series.
Favorite Books:
I prefer reading about western U.S. history, although I love historical novels about famous people. One of my favorites is Winston Churchill's official biography. I don't find a lot of time to read, but when I do I only require that the book keep my attention.
Favorite Quotes:
"It's in the hole!" - Carl Spangler (Caddyshack)
"I was right there in it." - Ernest T. Bass (Andy Griffith Show)
"When I die, at the moment that I feel my life slipping from me, I don't want my last thoughts to be, 'oh, if I had only done this, or only done that'." - David Johnston, vulcanologist killed on the side of Mount St. Helens when it erupted in the 1980s.
