About Me:

I was born and grew up in Hamilton, Ontario.  I studied psychology and sociology at a college there before moving to Vancouver in 2007.  I currently work as a private English tutor but am interested in moving overseas in the future to teach (maybe Japan or Hong Kong?)

I am interested in making new friends around the world.  Language exchange in Japanese or Mandarin would be nice, but I'm more interested in making friends.  If you have any questions about Vancouver, or if you just moved here from another country and need advice on good things to see, please feel free to write to me.

Thanks!
- Sean

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

I am interested in writing and am currently trying to write a good novel, but it is going slowly.  I also love cooking and am trying to learn many new recipes.  I may go back to school to take some cooking classes in the future.

Favorite Music:

I love old 80s music, but I'm also quite fond of Jazz, classical, older rap and some heavy metal.  I don't often listen to music unless I'm walking somewhere, and my MP3 player has a huge variety of music on it so I don't get bored.

Favorite Movies:

I have too many favourite movies to list, so I will list them later!

Favorite TV Shows:

My current favourite show is Maison Ikkoku.

I also really enjoy watching the X-Files, Star Trek TNG, Seinfeld and several others, but I don't really watch TV anymore because I dislike commercials!  One exception is that I'll watch hockey, but not as often as most Canadians.

Favorite Books:

1984, Animal Farm, Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong, Hart's War, Lord of the Rings, "Mission Earth" series by L. Ron. Hubbard, A Dream of Eagles series by Jack Whyte, The Necroscope Series, Bernard Cornwell's Warlord Trilogy, Discworld Series, Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series.

i believe Chinese is harder than English, but it's in another way. We had chinese classes in school, but my mark of it was always worse than that of English :P My hometown is shanghai. I think u can get a lot of information about it online. I lived there for one year when i was 6. Dont have much memory about it now :P
A mini Hongkong? Hongkong is mini for me haha.

French is interesting? It sounds elegant and romantic when I hear  women talking in it. But it's much harder than English.

yes Cantonese is much more difficult. It's hard to pronounce too.
You also speak French?

haha exactly. Chinese are everywhere :P I hope they are all friendly to you. Why do you want to learn Chinese? Is it because you always hear people talking in Chinese in the streets and restaurants that makes you mad? :P
