Hello! I'm a regular American nerdy guy. I'm 20 years old. I am in my second year in college. I'm majoring in Computer Information Systems, focusing in programming.​ I'm currently taking a Chinese I course, and I hope to teach myself Japanese at some point. (My university does not have an available Japanese language course :/ )

I'm interested in East Asian culture. Mainly China/Japan.​ I'd also like help in learning Chinese and Japanese. I would love to know about the culture of everyday people. I don't really care, though. It would be pretty awesome to have a friend in every country of the world ^.^

I watch anime, occasional television, and plenty of movies. I read a lot more manga, as much as it destroys my budget >.<;; I love video games, too.  I'm currently addicted to playing Odin Sphere, and next I'll start up Ar Tonelico. :D I mostly play role playing games, but I'll also play games like Halo and Super Smash Bros. Brawl with friends.

Oh right! This summer my korean roommate at college introduced me to TOUHOU! ZUN is wonderful (besides his terrible art). Touhou is so fun, I love Touhou 8 (Imperishabl​e Night) the most. I'm amazed at how large the fan-base is, but the games are so fun!

I listen to a lot of rock music, lately most of it being J-Rock. My friend has recently been getting me into the many background and character songs from anime and video games.  My tastes change depending on what I'm doing at the time, basically.

Office Space, Shoot Em Up, Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Howl's Moving Castle, Sweeney Todd, Pulp Fiction, Pirates of the Caribbean, Clerks, Crank, Aladdin, and a lot more

Lost, Firefly, CSI, Ninja Warrior (Sasuke), House, Mythbusters,​ Bones, and I've started watching Heroes, aswell

I've also started watching Japanese dramas, such as Nobuta wo Produce, Yama Onna Kabe Onna, and Osen. They are really funny and cute at the same time. ^.^;;

I just recently moved to "actual"​ books instead of manga. I've taken a liking to an author named Haruki Murakami. I read his books After Dark and Kafka on the Shore.  My friend The Wind Up Bird Chronicle for me as a birthday present last month, so I hope to read that soon, too.  My favorite manga have been Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, One Piece, Claymore, Strawberry Marshmallow,​  and Yotsuba&​!. I've read plenty else, but there are some samples ^.^;;

Over the summer I also read Battle Royale and the Welcome to the NHK novel. I don't think I could ever watch the anime or read the manga for Welcome to the NHK because of how great the novel was.
