Shame to admit it, I haven't seen any of those. ;) I have seen the first Terminator movie though. I've heard Arnold Schwarzenegger is quite popular in Japan, or at least he was in the 80s/early 90s.
I don't consider my taste of movies to be that exquisite, but maybe you'll find one or two that you've seen or might be interested in. My favourite directors are Stanley Kubrick (2001, Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, The Shining), Martin Scorsese (Casino, Goodfellas), Takeshi Kitano (Sonatine, Dolls, Brother, Hanabi), Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs). I also dig movies with Jean Reno, esp. Leon & Wasabi and animated features from ジブリ.
Genre-wise I like mafia/gangster/yakuza movies, horrors (psychological rather than gore) and science fiction. Have you seen/enjoyed any of the movies that I listed? ^^
