About Me:

I taught English as a volunteer in New York City. I was with International Center in New York. Now I am retired and living in California. I plan to use my spare time to continue teaching via the internet.
I am currently working on my own audiobooks to be made available for free via the internet. I hope these will help English students to improve their listening and speaking skills.
The most important thing for me is meeting people who want their study to be fun and not work. :D

Requests:

Sincere pen pals who are interested in improving skills in English.

No romance. I am too old and it might kill me, especially since all the Interpal females are so pretty.

Do not try to send me money. I print all I need. Thanks.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

Jazz music. Classic films. Correcting English and building up the self-confidence of those I teach. Amateur ceramics. Fishing in the dark without bait, hook or rod. Creative writing, which is not an oxymoron. Women [not for romance, but simply because women are always more interesting to old men]. Creative lying-- also known as politics. Breakdancing [so long as I never have to prove it]. Catching flies with my tongue. Drinking while driving drunk... I haven't started yet, but if I do I won't be able to update my profile to tell you. Shoplifting flypaper.

Favorite Music:

Jazz=Bob James, Larry Coryell, Ryo Kawasaki
Rock-Kraan
Blues-Al Kooper
JPop-Mr. Children

Favorite Movies:

Chaplin, Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy. All old time films. :D

Favorite TV Shows:

Monk, Psych, Burn Notice, Two and a Half Men.

Favorite Books:

Harry Potter
Anything by Honore de Balzac
The Green Mile by Stephen King
Whatever I am currently reading

Favorite Quotes:

My own quote to those I teach. They must think it and believe it:
"My English is good, and getting better!"
"Bob who????!!??"

I read your reply to some African lady it made you appear more of a racist and seems you up to your neck in stereotype coz you assumes all Africans are the same. People depend on their respective personality not race. Sorry I had the belief that age brings wisdom but seems I am wrong here!!!!
I AM SORRY IF I MISUNDERSTOOD YOU SOMEWHERE

You sound so fascinating! I would love to chat with you. I would like to know how one can volunteer to read and have a voice recorded for the Audiobooks...
Your new friend, Susan in Santa Maria. Do you live near Laguna Beach? That was my favorite place to be as a child...

I am sorry to hear about the fire but also happy about ur audio and TV feature.
Nowadays me and my friends are into Agatha Christie's books. I have read a few books more than them. We all loved it. I especially like her detective Mr. Poirot. Its fun reading her novels. She presents it so well.
I also recently read two books of Jean Sasson. It was fantastic. Thats all here.................
