About Me:

hiya, i'm a 27 y/o girl from Germany.
I've just graduated university. I studied English and Geography to become a teacher (i.e. to teach those two subjects here in Germany). But  I'd like to move to England and train to be a German teacher there.
I've just started at part time job at a cinema.
I'm a geek/dork/nerd.. can be a bit of a workaholic but can be one h*ll of a lazy sloth, too. I can be pedantic, perfectionist, dull, but also totally weird and wacko :D
My interests/hobbies are swimming, reading, youthwork, going out with my best friend, English-language films, collecting postcards, walking, learning about the world.I also like cycling, daytrips, travelling, going to museums, reading newspapers, discussing politics and current events; writing stories and poems in English, Star Trek.
My latest area of interest is "male bonding" (nope, not bondage! bonding as in friendship between guys, e.g. Kirk and Spock :) ), so, guys, be prepared to tell me all about your same-sex friendships, like what you do with your mates when you hang out, what you talk about etc :)
...I speak English and German fluently and can help you with those. I'm learning Spanish...
as for my character, i'm straighforward, open-minded, wacky sense of humour...

Requests:

ABSOLUTELY NO ROMANCE, cf. below

I'm mainly looking for chat pals (ICQ or yahoo/msn), but also a handful of snail mail pals.
I'd like to meet someone who is fond of literature and would like to read a book "together" and discuss it in our letters or swap reading journals.
You don't need to be a rocket scientist, but it helps if you are more or less intelligent and interested in a variety of topics.
We can talk about anything from everyday stuff (yes I am interested in what you've been up to, as long as you can talk about other things, too), to work/ studies, politics/current events, ups and downs, linguistics, history, geography...

why is it people never write about their work or studies in letters? Work does take up a lot of our time and it's where we meet our colleagues and sometimes even friends. Plus, I like dedicated people who put an effort into what they are doing. So, I'd like to hear about your job or studies.

* I tend to click better with guys because many of them are more easygoing, funny and er... I hate to say it intelligent/ rational than your average girly girl. Of course, girls are welcome, too!!! But if your main interests are shopping, make-up and HelloKitty, please don't bother to msg me.

*postcard swappers

*I'd especially like to talk to other teachers/ teaching students from all over; social workers are cool, too :)

*also looking for someone from the West Midlands, esp. Coventry (lived there for a year),but any other place in West Midlands is fine too

* I'm NOT looking for romance and won't talk to anyone who calls me 'dear' or 'baby' or 'darling', either. So p*ss off! Aaaargh, ey you African and Algerian guys (and guys from the USA, too!!!!), which part of "I'm not looking for romance" is it that you don't understand? Is your processing capacity so low that you don't understand the difference between an affirmative declarative sentence and a negated one? "I'm not looking for romance" means "Me no want boyfriend. Me have boyfriend. You go away." If anyone who's looking exclusively for a relationship or flirting drops me one of those one-liner messages again, I'll report you.

Language Exchange Requests:

I can help you with your German or English. I desperately need help with Spanish!

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

reading, swimming, youthwork, walking, learning about the world, discussing current events, daytrips, travelling, Star Trek...; writing stories and poems in English; DOS-games
I'm not into clubbing and partying, so if you're fave pastime is getting boozed up, don't bother to write to me :D

Favorite Music:

classical, 60s, 70s, 80s, punk, some  hip hop, some metal (e.g. Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, Samael), some Southern rock *blush*
- I'll listen to anything my friends or family recommend (except most pop music and cheesy soft rock)

Favorite Movies:

Star Trek; LotR; Silence of the Lambs; Shadowlands... anything starring Patrick Stewart, Alan Rickman, Anthony Hopkins, Ian McKellen

Favorite TV Shows:

Star Trek TOS, TNG and DS9, Simpsons, Keeping Up Appearances, Brother Cadfael; I,Claudius

Favorite Books:

Love in the Time of the Cholera; The Picture of Dorian Gray;Jane Eyre;LotR; fave authors: Shakespeare; Philip Roth; John Irving; Truman Capote; Marion Zimmer Bradley; Arthur C. Clarke; probably D.H. Lawrence, although I haven't read any of his books so far ;)

Hello!

Thanks for you message:) I'm glad there ae more people who like KUA. And of course I have my favorite character. And of course it's Hyacinth. I'd like to be like her - she's neve giving up, she ever hears what other people say (especially critics sayings), so I would like to not worry what other people say, just doing things in my way... Well, i like the second Rose better than the first one.
I'm sorry but I don't know how many seasons there are, probably 4, but I'm not sure. E mula found episodes for me and i wasn't watched them in chronological order...
I look cute in tuxedo? what do you mean ;>? I thought you will call me Harry Potter cause this is how some pupils called me behind my back at school :D:D:D I'm teaching polish language and literature at school for 11th and 12th form (my pupils are 16-18 years old).
Merry Christmas and i hope to hear from you again,

Andrew
