About Me:

Hello Everybody! ^_^ I'd like to get back to the penpalling days when distant communication was run through the Post Offices and the messages came handwritten in paper envelopes. In other words, I'd like to write to new friends "unplugged". ^_^ I'm an economist, work in telecommunications, but I'm also a blogger, love to read, write, talk to friends, cry with mushy movies (so I avoid them as much as I can), love to travel and love to stay home and watch the rain fall with a mug of cocoa.

I know that sound a bit "romantic" but I'm actually not. I'm more of the "sit down and talk about what we have in our heads, resolve the problems of the world" type. I don't sight and dream of far away castles and knights in shiny armors. I laugh, grab a beer and watch the game, scream at the players as if they could hear me, and put my feet on the table. I love to relax, forget the stiff formalities imposed to people and just feel at home. Now, I value RESPECT, but I like being comfortable and I like it when people feel comfortable.

Following a trend I've seen around (which seems very useful and funny, and therefore I'll adopt), I thought I'll give you a small list of facts about me (which will probably grow through time):

§ I'm a cat person. I'm not much into dogs because they smell, are loud and too dependant. Besides cats have a much softer hair, and I kind of like their smell.

§ My favorite color is green.

§ I love the month of October, the moon, the night with clear sky and a soft, cool breeze and the scent of jazmin blooming in the night.

§ I love solitude. In fact I love to go to the movies alone, eat alone and read or write on my journal all by myself, for illimited time.

§ I can't really say I'm a tolerant person because I can't stand stupid people. I don't mind tolerant or intolerant people, but stupid people annoys me.

§ I used to smoke. There's something beautiful and peaceful about taking a drag on a long clover cig and a cup of black coffee. Also, as a smoker, I realized all the discrimination going on against them, treated as if they had no rights. I think that's unfair.

§ I love coffee, black with no sugar. I actually drink hot drinks with no sugar. Love also coke, specially cherry coke and Heineken beer.

§ I love to sleep. A good, soft, warm bed with a nice, warm blanket is heaven for me.

§ Breakfast is my favorite meal.

§ Halloween is my favorite "holiday".

§ I'm fascinated by "supernatural" stuff and stories. Vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts, mysterious things in the darkness, magic and all that. However stuff outside planet Earth fails to hold my interest. If there's life out there, good for them, but leave me to all the fantastic things in here. ^_^

§ I don't really believe in the horoscope, but I have been able to "profile" people based on their sign. Wel, it's not my fault that all geminis and all virges behave the same way...

§ I'm an amateur writer, unpublished. I used to write more some years ago, but then I've got sucked by by the world of slash fanfiction, and it has been hard to climb back from it. It's addictive, specially when you read something and you know you can make it better... and so you do.

§ I love paper stores. All kinds of paper, notebooks, diaries particularly, envelopes... colors, textures, and if it has an old, ancient, traditional quality, I'll be inevitably pulled towards buying it.

§ Love pens, particularly fountain pens. Can't stop myself from admiring them. Got a beautiful glass quill too!

§ I love brownies.

§ There's soemthing about peacock feathers that drive me crazy. Simply love them, and love stuff with it's design.

§ I'm crazy for Swatch watches and Benetton clothes.

§ Love creative, ingenious things, like handbag caddies.

§ Love ribbons.

§ I love cherries. And I mean I LOVE cherries. Maraschino cherries are fine, but the fresh, almost black, heart shaped, crunchy, sour-sweet cherries drive me insane. It is not a coincidence that I love cherry-coke as well. ^_^

§ I know this might sound wicked, but I do love my career. I'm an economist. I know, people usually don't like their job or their career, but I do. Sometimes, in my free time I find myself following up news on my industry, I usually pay more attetion to ads about my industry and... I think most of the aspects of my life in economical terms.

§ People say I'm crazy. I think they are so I rather don't disagree with them. ^_^

§ I admire bisexual people because they can love the person, and not the gender. They are cool. Wish I were bi too.... U_U

§ Once I wrote up a list of my "defects". Got to 60, and they were all so cool! I have awesome defects!

§ When I was a child I fell in love with red shoes, actually red leather clogs. Somehow that reminded with me, and though I only have a pair of red shoes and a pair of red boots, red shoes drive me crazy.

Requests:

I'm interested in making friends around the world, but only through snail mail. I'm not looking for relationships or any kind of romantic connection of any sort. I'd like to write to men and women who are funny and mature. People who have their own opinions, their own thoughts and like to talk about anything in life, in fiction, in anything.

For all those out there who can't read or believe to be big "ladies men" and waste precious letters in composing messages of sudden love and all that because "that's what ladies want" and "no matter if she says friends-only because all they want really is love", don't waste your time. I don't do "indirects", when I say "friends-only" I mean "friends-only". I have a boyfriend and we are very happy, so please take your Cassanova lines to someone who cares.

Now back to normal, I don't mind writing the first letter, but please, you have to give me something to write to. Don't just send me a resumé of your profile or an extended version of it. I'll check it out, so give me something else, ok?

Now unfortunately I realized that CASSANOVAS and PLAYERS can't read, or they just don't, so this is what I'll do: if you are male and from Africa, I'll block you without reading your mail. If you send me just a "hi" or a "how are you" I'll block you. If you send me a message saying "lets be friends and see where it takes us" I'll block you. If you annoy me in any way, or I get the feeling that you are not a decent penpal, I'll block you. You dare to ask money from me, I'll FLAG YOU. You porpose or send me a "love letter", I'll FLAG YOU. See how you'll like that. Oh, and I'll tell ALL MY FRIENDS about each and everyone of you, and they WILL block you and FLAG YOU as well. Ain't I just what you were looking for, huh? "Big Daddy"? Now get lost.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

Reading, writing, politics, rugby, art, particularly Art Nouveau, culture, Medieval History, mystery novels, classics, trova, social issues, environmental issues, economical issues, philosophy (particularly existentialism), aesthetics and the quite, happy contemplation of life. I love languages, so I'm usually interested in picking up a new language or practicing a language I somewhat know. Currently I'm trying to learn German.

Favorite Music:

jazz, acid jazz, progressive, hip-hop, classic rock, blues and sometimes I'm into country too.

When it comes to bands I like Nox, L'Arc en Ciel, Without Temptation, Nightwish, Evanescense, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Guns'n'Roses, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, The Doors... it depends on my mood.
