I'm a writer, editor and historian. I'm not very good at running with the herd: I am not interested in money or status, but I am passionate about my interests.


Interests: the coast, walking, anything outdoors, art, music, history, writing, laughing at the absurdities of life, lighthouses,​ windmills, castles, old churches, dogs, thunder and lightning, a good whisky, mustard, chocolate, ghost stories, good company, fundraising and other support for animal and hospice charities, and many other things.

Would love to hear from anyone who feels there is more to life than just being a consumer, and from anyone with similar interests.

I am not interested in love, lust or any form of relationship​ - I have found someone very special!

Most things from Gregorian chants and the Troubadours to the blues and rock.

Anything that makes me think, makes me laugh or moves me in any way.

Have a particular fondness for Buster Keaton, Kieslowski, Parajanov and many others.

Anything that makes me think, teaches me something or makes me laugh.

Most good literature from to Arthurian legends to Zoshchenko, but I have a particular weakness for central and eastern European literature and the classic English ghost story.
