About Me:

I'm a 20 year old English Male from the South West region of Somerset. I speak English and enough French to hold a conversation most of the time. I am, I believe the correct name is, empathic; I can feel positive and negative atmospheres and can become more energetic or feel ill depending on the general feeling of the people around or, occasionally, place itself. I occasionally have dreams that come true and deal with what some people call ghosts on a daily basis. This has lead to a great interest in the paranormal.
I am engaged to Becky19 on this site.

Requests:

I'm just looking for a penpal from anywhere, any gender to correspond with on subjects of similar interest.

Language Exchange Requests:

I speak English, and enough French to hold a conversation with some thought.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

Obviously, I have a great paranormal interest (see above) but also; I love puzzles, reading and chinese and japanese art and culture. I am often to be found drawing or studying palaeontology and archaeology or, occasionally, cooking. I also have a love for technology, in particular computers, and am currently doing an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Server Engineer) course. I own a rat and two cats and have an interest and love of animals and the natural world too.

Favorite Music:

I enjoy a wide range of music; my collection includes classical (like Beethoven), blues (from the likes of Johnny Cash) and rock (from such as The Rolling Stones). It includes many more genres and artists, however no r and b, rap or trance music would be found there.

I am, indeed, a big fan of The Rolling Stones, I enjoy almost everything by Within Temptation and my music list boasts a large collection of dramatic film scores.

Favorite Movies:

Memoires of a Geisha, V for Vendetta, Highlander  and Jurassic Park are among the top. I also enjoy the Indiana Jones series, Stigmata and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The genres I usually enjoy almost mirror by book interests; sci-fi, paranormal, adventure, historical and the occasional comedy. Animé/Manga will also get me watching.

Favorite TV Shows:

Almost anything about the natural world or wildlife, especially if David Attenborough is involved. Anything about the prehistoric world, either scientific or in pseudo-documentary format; i.e, the Walking with.. series. For fiction, again, I enjoy the sci-fi and adventure genres; Lost, Farscape, Highlander, etc. I can enjoy historic fiction too and, of course, such paranormal themes as The X-files or Strange.  Paranormal themed documentaries are, of course, also watched due to interest in the subject, though most seem sub-par.

Favorite Books:

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova is possibly the best of the more recently written books I have read, though I enjoy the works of Michael Crichton and, just occasionally now, Brian Jacques. In my younger days I was quite a Redwall fan, and still hold a fondness for the series, though now I am more likely to be found reading sci-fi, paranormal/ magic adventure or non-fiction titles.

Favorite Quotes:

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” Mahatma Gahndi

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." William Shakespeare written in Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 5.

Well, when I don't have a job, I feel like I'm not being productive. Which is true, mostly. I have things to take care of, of course, & so that's basically the first step to take in that general direction. I also just like having goals or things to look forward to & work for, you know ? It makes me feel more secure, I think. Anyway, I had an interview earlier today & I think it went really well :] I never can tell with those things anyhow. ha

That's the best part about driving, isn't it ? :] It always was for me. It's only 1am & already I can tell I won't be sleeping tonight. See when this happens, I just go out as early as possible because by the time 7am rolls around, I am bored & ready to do something. haha Usually that ends up being walking to the grocery store for coffee creamer or a newspaper or something. & I live in a tiny town where nothing is open until 7 or 8 anyway. It's insane. ha

My my... It's been crazy. I've moved just about 6 times this year. It will be my sixth in a week. I'm just trying to get settled in this world, you know ? I've had a really hard time doing that. But I'm hopefull, like I know I have to be :]

I finished The Historian, I dunno if I ever mentioned it. But it was great, I loved it. Thanks for the recommendation ! I haven't been doing much but reading and exploring the woods lately. It's been briliiant, but I'm ready for routine & purpose. haha What have you been up to ??

-NAMASTE !

Yeah, my favourite subjects are Math and economics. If we would have a better IT and a better English teacher I would like this subjects, too. But our english teacher is alwasy speaking German and our It teacher is just a boring teacher.

Wow, this 'empathic' thing you have going on is fascinating - if you've got time at some point, I'd love to know more about it. Purely out of interest. Drop us a line if you fancy it.

You'd be surprised at how many people on my course have no idea where Belfast is.. i think they think that there's a tunnel under the Irish Sea or something.. which is possibly a good idea but unfortunately it doesn't currently exist so aye ferries and planes! planes are much more handy though! have you met any other people who share the gift of empathy? Is the rat free or in a cage? I sound highly interested in the rat and I am :p
