About Me:
!!Currently not at home, so unable to react.
Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherized upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
The muttering retreats
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels
And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:
Streets that follow like a tedious argument
Of insidious intent
To lead you to an overwhelming question ...
Oh, do not ask, "What is it?"
Let us go and make our visit.
(From: The love song of J. Alfred Prufrock, by TS Eliot)
One of the best openings ever written of one of the best profiles… I mean poems, ever written. And so I chose to start with it, also because I like the in medias res opening, which fits a profile very well, in my opinion.
Anyhow, I am Tom, as you might have read, or guessed, already. My hobbies include jiu-jitsu, following the news and discussing actual subjects with people, and maybe reading, but not too much.
I have this annoying tendency to correct people, and I prefer people to correct me too, but not too much.
My main school subjects are Latin and mathematics; I can even prove that 2 equals –2. What do you say about that? Don’t believe me? Well then, check this out:
-2 = (-8)^(1/3) = (-8)^(2/6) = 6√[(-8)2] = 6√(64) = 2
⇒ -2 = 2
Impressive, isn’t it? Now then, whoever is up to the task, find the mistake in that reasoning. ;)
Oh, and girls, I'm taken. ;)
