About Me:
I'm a typical housewife who is currently homeschooling my 2 daughters.
The quotes I picked tell a lot about me.

Requests:
I am here to chat with grown ups as it sometimes gets lonely in the afternoons with just me and the kids...
I'm very patriotic...if your a US soldier say hello...I have a few soldier penpals through organizations like Anysoldier and Adopt a US Soldier...Bless you and your family...I pray for your safety every day.
I don't want a boyfriend, I am married, so please respect that.
I do want some intellegent, fun, interesting, conversation.
If you don't fill out your profile I will probably not message you back.
If you write me for the first time please give me more than "Hey lets be friends" maybe come up with something to talk about, a question etc...
Why is it, when I put the line above about what NOT to write to me on the first message I get a box full of messages saying "I want to be friends." or "lets be friends." Are you people for real? Like I tell my kids...Work with me, not against me!

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
I've been getting more religious lately. I am Jewish and have been finding more and more comfort in prayer etc...I don't have much time to do my own thing. Once, I enjoyed cooking, hiking with my husband, finding new places to explore. Now, homeschool takes center stage.
Favorite Music:
Classical (Vivaldi, Copeland, Debussy)
Jazz Vocal (Rosemary Clooney, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald)
Blues (John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal)
Rock (from the 50s to today from Rock to Rockabilly)
Folk (Kingston Trio etc)
Some Country as I appreciate the patriotism in many of the songs.
Where do ABBA, Billy Joel, Sarah Brightman etc fit?
...I like most music except rap and metal

Favorite Movies:
Action, Comedy, Classics, Romantic Comedy, Drama...if its good, I'll watch it. If its great, I'll watch it twice. The really really great ones I know by heart :) Many of the 80s classics my husband and I quote on a regular basis. We can have a whole conversation with nothing but movie lines.
Favorite TV Shows:
News (Fox News), Law and Order SVU ,Ramsy's Kitchen, House,Big Love, Pushing Daisies, Monk, Family Guy (although politics sometimes gets in the way of enjoyment), History Channel, Learning Channel, etc. I really don't watch this much TV. I miss alot of this and watch the recordings when I can. I also tend to record a lot of the History Channel and learning Channel stuff and use it as part of my lessons with my kids. We all enjoy that.
Favorite Books:
Classics, Military, History, Coming of age, Religous stuff...
Favorite Quotes:
"There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is."
-Albert Einstein
“The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.”
- Abraham Lincoln
"For God and the soldier we adore, In time of danger, not before!
The danger passed, and all things righted, God is forgotten and the soldier slighted."
- Rudyard Kipling
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight... is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself".
- John Stuart Mill
"Also remember that in any man's dark hour, a pat on the back and an earnest handclasp may work a small miracle"
- Brigadier-General S.L.A Marshall, "The Armed Forces Officer" 1950[/green]
"There is only one God and He is God to all;
therefore it is important that everyone is seen as equal before God.
I've always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu,
a Muslim become a better Muslim,
a Catholic become a better Catholic."
-Mother Teresa

- Winston Churchill
"In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can't build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery and death."
-Anne Frank
"It is the soldier, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the soldier,
who salutes the flag,
who serves under the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Five tips for a woman....
1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.
2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.
3. It is important to find a man you can count on! and doesn't lie to you.
4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.
5. It is important that these four men don't know each other.
