About Me:

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night, dear viewer.
You've just entered a profile belonging to a young journalism student, whose desk is a helpless mess of books and papers and whose mind is an even more helpless mess of questions impossible to answer and thoughts whirling on the brink of space dementia. Despite the ugly photos and her not very sociable mood, she's not here to bite you, unless you give her a good reason (i.e., trying to convert her to your religion, stating that ethnic minorities should be wiped off, claiming that Tokio Hotel are the best band ever).

I'm a living denial to most of the stereotypes about Italy: if you're interested in mafia, spaghetti or the tower of Pisa, ask wikipedia not me. But ask me about the creamy flavour of a glass of White Russian, pointless random facts about the Wehrmacht or any book out of the list below in this page, and I'll be as happy as a Easter bunny on hallucinogen.
The nicer thing ever told to me was: "You are as pretty as a marching cossack". I really take it like a compliment. And it explains very well my opinion about being cute and fashionable.
I love laughing about everything, from my own face to international affairs, passing by crappy horror movies. I tend to be quite serious, but under this surface beats a heart devoted to sarcasm - and to daydreaming of stories to write: watch your step, 'cause YOU could be the next inspiration!

Requests:

READ THE WHOLE PROFILE BEFORE WRITING, PLEASE.

I look only for friendship, got it? If you want to have cybersex, browse a p.orn site. If you want money, find a job.

Instant messengers are restricted informations. Asking for them at the very first message, without having talked to me anytime before, is the easiest way to be ignored. Seriously, why do you think one should add a perfect stranger?

Won't answer to anyone over 30. Sorry folks, but age does matter.

Friends requests from people I don't know and have never spoken to, will be declined with no mercy.

Last but not least: "hi how r u" messages are lame. Come on, showing some personality is not a crime yet!

______________________________________________________

Okay, you have left behind your back the boring yet important requests and now only the like-not-like factor can separate you from messaging this profile. For so, if you think there’s really something we could build a couple of nice conversations about, you’re recommended to write without hesitation: no need to be shy at all, because I’m already taking the shyness for both of us.

Language Exchange Requests:

Parlo, leggo e scrivo l'italiano, be', come una persona nata e vissuta per quasi vent'anni in Italia.

My English isn't so bad - or so I like to think. It's just between average and good, always ready to improve.

Mein Deutsch ist sehr schlecht: ich mangle an Übung und Basiskenntnis, obgleich kann ich manchen Satzen zusammenstellen.

Мой pусский почти несуществующий. Пожалуйста будьте терпеливые про мои ошибки.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

I have no idea of how many books surround me in my room; but I'm rather sure I've read most of them. So, I love reading and cannot live without writing - already a novelist.
History is my obsession, especially the XX century world wars: my fav personalities are Claus von Stauffenberg and Frederick II of Hohenstaufen.
Not much of a sporty person at all, though I go sailing and I love swimming in a deep blue sea: the more deserted is the beach, the best it is.
More randomly, I enjoy pretty common things such us concerts, food, coffee and alcohol (not so much to kill myself, but let's say I appreciate the dionysiac elation), drawing horrible doodles, TV when there's something good or something sublimely awfully bad, the heart-warmingly demented company of the friends I love and care about.

Favorite Music:

A LOT. The countless ways of rock'n'roll are my thing, but I also love classical and sometimes listen to jazz/blues as well.

Just to let you get an idea: Muse, My Chemical Romance, Doors, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Dark Lunacy, Apocalyptica, W.A. Mozart, Dresden Dolls, Angels & Airwaves, Bruce Springsteen, Clash, Baustelle, Tom Waits, Fabrizio De Andrè, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dimitri Shostakovich, Ramones, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, Joy Division, Ludwig van Beethoven, Beatles, Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, Lou Reed, Kaiser Chiefs, Procol Harum, Fryderyk Chopin, Manic Street Preachers, Social Distortion, White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Kasabian, System Of A Down, Who, Nirvana, Strokes, Murder By Death, Biffy Clyro, Sex Pistols, Cure, Radiohead, R.E.M., Afterhours, Smashing Pumpkins, Týr, Red Army Choir (dammit, everyone has its own dirty little guilty pleasures).

Favorite Movies:

Dr Strangelove, The great dictator, Apocalypse now, Blade Runner, Collateral, Eastern promises, 25th hour, Come and see, American history X, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd, The corpse bride, M.A.S.H., The great war, Barry Lyndon, Johnny got his gun, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Saving private Ryan, The pink panther, Raiders of the lost ark, Indiana Jones and the last crusade, Train de vie, Catch me if you can, The illusionist, The Darjeeling limited, Do the right thing, The pianist, Dead man, The Blues brothers, School of rock, The fifth element, Wall-E, Kung-fu Panda, Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence, All quiet on the western front, Letters from Iwojima, Scarface, Pulp fiction, Sin City, Rear window, Million dollar baby, Forrest Gump, Get Smart, The third man, old SW trilogy, The departed.

Favorite TV Shows:

The Simpsons, Dr House, Navy NCIS, Scrubs, Alias, Black Lagoon, Band of brothers, Combat, Hornblower, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Life, Death Note, Reaper, My Super Sweet 16 and other Mtv sh.it (what on earth is more hilarious than teenage stupidity?!).

Favorite Books:

Book of my life: The hitchhiker’s guide to galaxy.
Fav writers: Julius Caesar, Isaak Babel’, Franz Kafka, Beppe Fenoglio, Joseph Conrad, Vladimir Nabokov, Philip K. Dick.
Hated stuff: Federico Moccia, Jonathan Littell, Lord of the rings (though the movies were fun to watch), Harry Potter, Twilight, generally hold a dislike for romance, fantasy and (to a lesser extent) crime stories.

The art of war - Sun-Tzu
The great Gatsby - F.S. Fitzgerald
The long goodbye - R. Chandler
Horrible Histories series (back in the days)
The innocent - I. McEwan
...and so on.

I like some manga stuff too (Hellsing, Vinland Saga, Alita, She The Ultimate Weapon, Cicatrice The Sirius) but it's a mostly occasional interest. A comic that really makes me laugh my a$$ off is Sturmtruppen by Italian artist Bonvi.

"Don't waste your time or time will waste you." (Knights Of Cydonia - Muse)

"For some reason, people think that music must tell us only about the pinnacles of the human spirit, or at least about highly romantic villains. But there are very few heroes or villains. "It goes on, he thought. The internecine hate. Perhaps the seeds are there, in that. They will eat one another at last, and leave the rest of us here and there in the world, still alive. Still enough of us once more to build and hope and make a few simple plans." (Philip K. Dick, "The man in the high castle")

Aw, I've just checked on amazon.co.uk and the title is going to be "The Angel's Game", too bad they say its going to be released in June next year :O But well, better late than never :P I should start learning Spanish I guess...
Speaking about books, anything interesting you could recommend from personal experience? I don't really know what to read :) Oh yes, I understand you too well, I haven't got much time for reading myself, since I started working full-time :( However, if you say it's as good as the Shadow, makes me curious already ;)
hehe, I like cynic philosophers too :)

Hi, thanks for leaving me a message :)
I can see you've got a nice, long list of books here!
Regarding Zafon, no, actually I haven't read that one, i don't even know if it's been translated to English? Is it as good as the famous Shadow of the Wind? If it is, I'll definitely give it a try :)
Your profile is interesting, as well!
As for the quote, I just like Diogenes :)

Yeah, me too. The main difference between us is that I have such thoughts not only when starting a conversation but almost always when I have to speak in English. I don't feel very confident with my English abilities, hehe.
Yeah, I completely understand you. In my school there are exams every half-year, too (fortunately, not at the moment), so I really know how hard it is to learn in front of your computer. But you'll manage to do it, I believe in you!!!
What subject are you studying at the university?

Ciao! No need to thank, really. I usually get confused about what I should answer when people say such things. Don't you?
Well, thank you. I see our music tastes have much in common! Do you have an account on last.fm?
