About Me:

Hm, who am I? This is really weird - I feel like applying for a job *lol*.

I love to go to the movies and never leave the cinema before the end credits are over.

I always try not to read the last line of a book I am still reading, but hardly ever manage.

My favorite landscape is the desert, but I admire the ocean.

I suffer from some strange kind of Peter Pan-Syndrome, which does not mean that I am childish all the time. Hard to describe.

If I stop by at your profile and don't leave a message, it doesn't mean that I don't like it or that I am not interested - I just often don't know how to start a conversation and don't want to end up leaving one of those "Hi, how are you?"-messages :-)...so please feel free to send me a message if you want - I did not mean to be rude ;-)

I would really like to do this whole snail mail thing, but not in the very beginning - this page offers us the opportunity to get to know each other and to find out if it fits first. Why not take this chance and talk for a while? It takes so much longer to find out by letters that the other one is not the person we wanted...it can save us a lot of time to "check" who the other one is via messaging first.

I sometimes am more of the melancholic than of the always-grinning, hopping-from-party-to-party-type (which does not mean that I sit in the corner crying all night and day, in fact, I consider myself to be a quite funny person...and no: that's not a contradiction :-) ), so people who feel offended, because of the fact that there might be days in which I don't feel  like singing and dancing around like a nerd, please don't contact me.

And...oh, yes: My Spanish is really poor, but I am willing to learn :-)

MATTHEW W. REST IN PEACE! I WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU! I HOPE YOU ARE IN A BETTER PLACE NOW!

Requests:

I would like to find some real friends (mainly females), who are really interested in getting to know each other and do not just want to add me to their enormous friends-collection. I am a human being and not a number that serves to show people how many friends you have.

I don't care what country you come from - I am looking for a person with a PERSONALITY, not for someone to write to just because s/he lives in a certain country.

I don't care for your age for the same reason either! My best friends are much younger and much older than I am. Age is not a question of years, but of the mind.

Please - when you contact me - write more than "hi, how are you". It is nice that you are concerned about my health, but please give me something I can answer to.

PLEASE NO FRIEND REQUESTS IF WE HAVEN'T TALKED !

I will definitely not answer to people with empty or almost empty profiles and most likely not to people with nicknames like "sexiest whatsoever", "hot so-and-so", etc. We probably won't match.

Also I like "proper" English, i.e. I don't like "dis kinda w/wo n hw r u 2day stuff cuz 4 me it's diff 2 undastand".

You can be gay. lesbian, straight or whatever :-) I am not looking for a relationship, so why should I care about that? I never understood.

I am sorry that I had to restrict my message box to women only. It does not mean that I don't generally talk to men, but I really am so tired of all these strange messages telling me that their authors want to share their lives with me or do have a friend in prison that they don't have a picture of but who definitely looks like Johnny Depp and that they want to find a girlfriend for. If you are male (and after friendship only!) you can still feel free to write on my wall and see if I answer or not...probably I won't. Sorry, but in my "real" life almost all of my friends are men, so I really want to find some women on here.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

I love going to the movies, listen to radio plays and yes, I collect and raise cacti :-D

Oh, I have another somewhat weird hobby: I collect snowmen and Santa Clauses...not real ones of course ;-) Made of porcelain, ceramic, glass, wood, metal, and so on. But only those who are not too kitschy, and the noses of the snowmen have to be a proper carrot, not some freaky snub nose (they really look more than strange on snowmen - take a look at the shops around X-mas...there are hundreds of snub-nosed snowmen, can anybody explain that to me?  ;-)).

Additionally I am really fond of cows and like to take photographs of them as if they were top models :-)

Favorite Music:

I am not into chart-music....I like bands such as Type O Negative, The Ramones, Guns'n'Roses, The Eternal Afflict, Depeche Mode, Frank the Baptist, Girls under Glass, Mephisto Waltz, Nirvana, etc...so all that dark and doomy stuff ;-)

Favorite Movies:

Favorite TV Shows:

My absolute all-time favorite is Cold Case, but I also love CSI, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Golden Girls and many, any others...I'm kind of a serial junkie :-)

Favorite Books:

Hm, I like science fiction (yes, there ARE good science fiction books! :-)), but also crimes (no thrillers with serial murderers, but a good old fashioned crime story) and more intellectual things :-).My favorite books are among others "Losing Gemma" by Katy Gardner, "Revelation Space" by Alastair Reynolds, "Once upon an Elephant" by Ashok Mathur and "The God of small Thing" by Arundhati Roy.

Favorite Quotes:

It's a small world, but I wouldn't wanna paint it.

There is nothing better than a friend...except for a friend with chocolate.
