About Me:

Here are quite a few things you might like to know about me...or no:

I want to be get into roller derby soon. I love rollerskating. I'd wear the tube socks with the stripes, and suspenders, over a wife-beater shirt.  I know, I'm an absolute raving lunatic.

My dream is to be on Broadway one o' these days.

My favorite song is by an obscure, but brilliant band called Loquat, "Swingset Chain". They are simply sublime.

I believe that there are no coincidences.

I adore Marilyn Monroe--especially in the Seven Year Itch. I like to impersonate her, blonde wig and all. I even sing a breathy "Happy Birthday", a la Marilyn. If I could time-travel, I would live in the 1950's.

If I find true love in this lifetime, I'll be the richest woman in the world. My great, great grandmother was Welsh royalty until she married a shanty Irishman, and became disinherited. When the grandchildren asked her if she thought she made the wrong choice, she quickly replied, "I would give all of the United Kingdom to be with your Grandfather". It's in my blood. I've been single for four and a half years and will remain so until I find "the one".

I'm actually quite shy.

I adore eccentric people. I am a huge fan of Andy Kaufman, bless his soul. I loved him in Taxi.

My favorite beer is Guinness! I'm a beer snob, which, I think is a good thing. I'm going to start brewing my own beer soon!

I'm good at drawing caricatures. I'm writing children's book right now, and finishing up a screen-play (it's a supernatural, murder-mystery).

I'm a funny drunk, so I'm told. It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt...then it's really funny.

I enjoy a good, healthy debate.

I'm a very spontaneous person, and don't like to make plans. I just like to get in my car and drive to an unknown destination.

I want to start a band and call it "Cartoon Sex Kitten", which I think is absolutely hilarious.

I want to do stand-up comedy one day soon. I think if I were a comedian, I'd definitely be one who had a drink in hand while on stage. I used to do improv comedy, and am trying to get a troupe started here in the small mountain town in which I live.

I would love to direct a play. I'm not sure what play I'd direct, but I'm sure it would be something very strange and edgy, like Keely and Du...or something by Alan Ball (screen-writer for American Beauty). I think I'd make a good director. I would never yell at my actors and I would bring home-made snacks for them, and I'd make them do silly warm-up exercises and games I learned from my days of improv.

I want to be a hydrogeologist, and when I do, I'm getting the tee-shirt that says "Geologists Make the Earth Quake and the Bedrock". Isn't that funny? I had a really nerdy pip-squeak of a geology professor in college who had that bumper sticker on the window of his office. He had horrible halitosis, nicotine stained thinning gray hair, and was not a very snappy dresser (I think he raided his wife's closet on occasion), so I don't think he was particularly a ladies man.

Oh, yes and I want the tee-shirt that says, "Writing Well is the Best Revenge", which someone said "implies that you are not only into writing, but you like getting revenge, which is kind of sexy".

I have regular fantasies of becoming an Amish woman, marrying a sexy Amish man and living on a farm somewhere in Pennsylvania, in a charming farm house with a white picket fence, a real wooden one that we have to paint every few years, and not a fake vinyl one! I really think I am not of this world.

My favorite city is New Orleans. I think it's such a romantic city, and I get really giddy when I'm walking around in the French Quarter. It makes me want to listen to some Concrete Blonde right now. Johnette Napolitano kicks arse!

I love taking pictures of grave yards, and ghost-hunting is a favorite pastime. I've had my fair share of encounters with other-worldly beings. If you'd like to know more, I've got some of my true ghost stories published to the web.

I'm a closet "Goth girl". I look great in black lipstick, although I look best in bright red.

I have some paintings I've done that I've had to cover up at night because the eyes glow in the moonlight, and it freaks me out. I admit that there is a eerie, ethereal quality about my work, which I cannot contain. My dog used to bark something fierce when he'd see my portraits. His hair would stand on end, which makes me wonder...

I like cheesy love songs from the 70's. I'm a closet fan of the Atlanta Rhythm Section (So Into You is their best song, and one of my all-time favorites), Gary Rafferty, Todd Rundgren, Abba, the Bee Gees.

I probably ramble way too much for my own good. Believe it or not, though, I am a great listener and am incredibly open-minded, so if you want to be my friend, all you have to do is ask. I get busy sometimes, and I'm not always at my computer when the light's green, but I'll write you when I can.

Requests:

I would love to meet anyone who is considerably interesting, especially those with an open mind.

Also, I would love to find a great snail mail pen pal who is funny and intelligent...and if you're into conspiracy theory or music I could talk to you all day.

I like all kinds of music, except for country, although I do like some of the classics every now and then. If it's good music, I don't discriminate. I'm very eclectic in life.

Life Aquatic, Harold and Maude, Little Miss Sunshine, Welcome to the Doll House, Along Came Polly,Love Liza, What the Bleep Do We Know, Man on the Moon, Jackie Brown (love the soundtrack, too), Juno (My sister says I remind her of the lead character),Breakfast on Pluto, Skins,The Changeling, The Shining, Secret Window, Eve's Bayou, Freeway, Mississippi Burning, My Left Foot, I'm Gonna Get You Sucka, The Jerk, American Beauty, American Movie, We're No Angels, Annie Hall (I love Woody Allen's sense of humor. I don't really like anything new. Actually, I don't watch television at all these days. I prefer to read. I day dream a lot, too.

Favorite Books:

Burro Genius by Victor Villasenor(this book is perhaps one of the best books I've ever read. It made me cry a ridiculous amount: it's such a touching true story. It's the best biography I've read), Gordon by Edith Templeton, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, The Quick and the Dead by Joy Williams are some of my favorites.

I also like to read Zippy the Pinhead  and Fat Freddy's Cat (underground comics). I know, I'm a nerd!

Favorite Quotes:

If I had any sense, I'd be dangerous!

Wherever you go, there you are.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

(I'm really deeper than that, though. Both of those quotes could be very deep, if you search for the profundity of them).
