About Me:
very down-to-earth guy, 5'10" (179cm), 72kg, athletic build. I love writing long letters and sharing ideas about the world. Catholic but interested in all religions and have my own ideas on these matters. ME? black humor, philosophy, nature, history, artforms especially music. I'm very much my own person and am critical about lots of accepted things so you would have to also value your free thinking and individuality. Oh, and please, noone who likes small dogs. They are NOT cute. If you disagree with me on this, then i don't trust your aesthetic judgements on anything. Don't get me wrong though, i'm an animal lover.
Requests:
any age, male or female - basically i like nice people who can chat about serious and silly topics.
Better if he or she loves nature, has self respect, and a tiny bit eccentric.

Language Exchange Requests:
would love to brush up on latin.
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
TENNIS, GUITAR, PHOTOGRAPHY, CREATIVE WRITING, PENPALS, CRICKET
I have a few electric guitars (number one is a custom built telecaster) and acoustic...play more acoustic these days, but am more an electric guitarist, especially blues and alternative. I taught guitar for a while and was in a number of bands - most terrible - but now i just tinker...write stuff.
I'm probably a better script writer than a composer though and my ultimate goal in life is to write a great book or movie.
I love photography but sadly don't get much time for it. There's lots of great nature around here to photograph. And it's patient and won't move around and/or throw a wobbly :) But i admit people are more interesting subjects.

Favorite Music:
TOP 5 OF 2008:
1. Warwick Avenue - Duffy
-simply classic, brilliant songwriting which will sound even better aged for 20 years than now.
2. Inni Mer Syngur Vitleysingur - Sigur Ros
- a kind of uplifting beauty, which mainly comes from the 'messy but still in tune' orchestra , the likes of which i haven't heard in a very long time. Go Iceland!
3. Something Good This Way Comes - Jakob Dylan
- the younger Dylan finally comes of age under producer Rick Rubin; just a few acoustic instruments and a few chords and a happy moment captured.
4. Walking on A Dream - Empire of The Sun
- aptly named band as this is THE song of summer. Synthpop at its best. Also shows that if you copy a band new enough (MGMT) noone will notice. GET THIS BY SUMMERTIME YOU NORTHERN HEMISPHEREITES!
5. Time to Pretend - MGMT
- a sort of early Who pop song given the electronic treatment and driven by a distorted Big Beat baass and drums; innovative, subgenre creating.
alternative, indie pop, 60's, 80's, lounge, liquid funk, classical. A few examples:
Led Zeppelin, The Who, Bloc Party, John Mayer, John Butler Trio, Arctic Monkeys, London Elektricity, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, , The Police, the Beatles, Logistics, Portishead, MGMT, Cream, Boss Hog, Queen, Boston, Genesis (Peter Gabriel years)
