I'm a happy, positive and optimistic person who enjoys the simplest things in life: hugs, a smile from a stranger, silly conversations with my 5 year old son, finding the perfect gift for someone I love, grocery shopping...

My name is Julie and I'm a 30 year old girl from Québec, Canada. I'm a mom, stationery designer, letter writer, sushi addict, French speaker and photography lover. I'm unconventional, open-minded, sincere and I try to be as non-judgemental and tolerant as possible.

My son is a spontaneous, imaginative and affectionate little guy and I feel blessed to share my life with him. We're homeschooling and although we've just started, it's a wonderful experience so far! I'm actually a fan of unschooling. If you've never heard about it, I suggest you read this article. Louis-Justin loves inventing stories, reading books, playing in the sand, counting in French and in English, swimming like a champion and making me laugh.

My son's dad and I are no longer together, but we're excellent friends.

I've been with my boyfriend for over 2 years. His name is Mario, he's a vegetarian, he has long wavy hair and a wacky personality.

I'm not a typical girl in the sense that I'm NOT interested in fashion, gossip or drama. I like simple things, natural stuff, healthy relationships.



I had my first penpal when I was 7 years old and I've been writing letters since then, so it's been almost 23 years now. Wow! Hopefully I'll still have penpals when I'm 75 years old! Wouldn't it be wonderful?!

I especially get along with people who are positive, optimistic, genuine, caring, artistic/creative, unconventional, open-minded, tolerant, friendly, spiritual...

A few random facts about me:

- I love food. These days I'm especially crazy about sushi, shrimps, salads and soups.

- I think that mermaids and fairies are beautiful. I wish I could draw or paint them. I admire artists!

- I want to be rich so that I can buy handmade things only! I love Etsy.

- I love skirts and dresses, especially longer ones.

- Autumn is my favorite season. I especially love the month of September (and early October). A cool breeze, crisp air, leaves turning orange, yellow and red... The perfect time of year for me!

- I'm bisexual and have dated both men and women in the past. Love is love, no matter what your gender or sexual orientation is.

- My dad passed away of lung cancer in 2005. I miss him, but his death was a wake-up call to live life to the fullest. I'm an optimistic person and I believe that everything happens for a reason. I always try to look on the bright side of things.

- I'm learning to follow my intuition more and more.

I'm looking for a couple of penpals to form a real friendship with (snail mail only and no typed letters please). Age and nationality aren't important - I'm looking for real friends who I can share my thoughts and feelings with.

French is my first language so writing in French would be great, but I think that my English is not too bad, so writing in English would be fine too.

I write long letters, I often send artistic photos and people tell me that I have pretty handwriting.

*As of July 2009, I'm currently no longer looking for new penpals! I've received a lot of requests from interesting people lately and I unfortunately can't say yes to everyone since I already have quite a few wonderful pals!*
