My name is Julie and I'm a 28 year old girl from Québec, Canada. I'm a writer, I design stationery and have my own online store. I'm also a photographer​ (part-time).​ I live in a house in the suburbs with 2 affectionate​ dogs, 1 weird cat, my son who loves trains (Louis-Justi​n) and his dad who loves electronics (Nicolas). Nicolas and I have been separated for almost 2 years but we're still excellent friends. I have been with my "new"​ boyfriend (Mario) for 1 year now. He's a vegetarian, he has a wacky personality and long curly hair.

I had my first penpal when I was 7 years old and I've been writing letters since then, so it's been over 20 years now. Wow! Hopefully I'll still have penpals when I'm 75 years old! That would be nice.

I'm caring, open-minded,​ non-judgemen​tal, accepting, creative, sincere, passionate, unconvention​al... I'm looking for someone who is deep, interesting,​ honest, funny, entertaining​, genuine and caring.

A few random facts about me:

- I sponsor a 15 year old girl who lives in Sri Lanka and who's an orphan. She's a sweetie!

- I love healthy food. These days I'm especially crazy about sushi, seafood dishes, salads, grilled veggies, smoothies and watermelon.

- I used to be a procrastinat​or but I'm getting much better!

- I'm currently writing my first novel. It's in French, but it will be so amazing that it will be translated into English, Spanish, Mandarin, Yiddish and Algonquin!

- I think that mermaids and fairies are beautiful.

- I want to be rich so that I can buy handmade things only! I love Etsy.

- I mostly wear skirts and I have a few dresses, but I hardly ever wear pants. Only my favorite pair of jeans once in a while.

- Autumn is my favorite season. I especially love the month of September (and early October). A cool breeze, crisp air, leaves turning orange, yellow and red... The perfect time of year for me!

- I'm bisexual and have dated both men and women in the past.

- My dad passed away of lung cancer in 2005. I miss him, but his death was a wake-up call to live life to the fullest. I'm an optimistic person and I believe that everything happens for a reason. I always try to look on the bright side of things.

- I'm learning to follow my intuition more and more.

I'm looking for a couple of penpals to form a real friendship with (snail mail only and no typed letters please). Age and nationality aren't important - I'm looking for real friends who I can share my thoughts and feelings with. French is my first language so writing in French would be great, but I think that my English is not too bad, so writing in English would be fine too. I write long letters, I often send artistic photos (since I'm a photographer​) and people tell me that I have pretty handwriting,​ but it can take me a little while to write back (3-8 weeks). One of my New Year's resolutions is to reply more quickly though, so there's hope! :)
