About Me:

Hello! I'm Allison and it doesn't take much to make me happy! My favorite pastime is sitting (I'm quite accomplished at it), and, sometimes, I like to combine this with munching on food that is horrifically bad for me. In less than a year, I will receive cooking lessons from Iron Chef British, Alex Cross, but, until then, I shall remain woefully in the dark. My mother tells me I'm, "intolerant and bossy", BUT my Panda Express fortune cookie says that, "Generosity and perfection are your assets - and they show". If I were you, I would listen to the cookie, because clearly it's more sensible.

I enjoy talking to people as long as they're good at entertaining me - I can be easily bored. Also, if anyone's interested in making a poster or drawing some pictures for me, I would very much like to be their friend!

Update #1 - I'd be much obliged if someone would leave me a photo comment! I'm in a sort of race, you see. And, of course, you want ME to win! So head on over to my photo section and leave me something witty!

Requests:

Anyone who isn't annoying! If you can maintain a conversation that doesn't stray into the realm of "Send me some pics of ur boobz", you've gained some major points in my book. Also, for future reference, I'm not particularly interested in discussing the time it is in my city. Or what the weather is like. I find that both subjects continually fail to amuse me, so, if your grasp of the english language hasn't quite surpassed this conversational level, please understand that I'm not going to go out of my way to talk to you. Sorry.

So far, I have met only one incredibly interesting person on Interpals (Alex Cross, who else?), but I am not opposed to finding more online friends. Just be aware that you have very stiff competition.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

Reading, writing, rolling in the grass, unsafe bicycle rides, receiving letters, featherbeds, easy-to-eat foods, chaotic organization, wearing borrowed clothes, making lists, mid-afternoon parties, presents, singing while driving, beating everyone at Clue, unexpected visitors, laughing, conversations with Alex Cross.

Favorite Music:

Well, I like mostly everything. I get into album obsessions where I only listen to one album on repeat, mostly while I'm driving. Right now, I'm crushing on ABBA. They're amazing! And from Sweden! (I don't care what you say about them, Alex Cross). I'm quite famous for enjoying getting music imposed on me. So, please, send me your favorite song!

[Really, my favorite songs are those sung to me by A.P. Cross. His voice is like chocolate for the ears.]

Favorite Movies:

It's difficult to get me in the right mood to watch a serious film. I generally go for the silly, happy ending types... Here's a list of films I've enjoyed that aren't stupid (because THAT would be quite an embarrassing list):

Gone with the Wind, Memento, 12 Angry Men, Rear Window, The Shawshank Redemption, To Kill a Mockingbird, Hotel Rwanda, Fight Club, No Country for Old Men, Brokeback Mountain, Atonement, Once, A Little Princess, and The Crossology (trilogy of Alex Cross films - 'Alex: The Beginning', 'Al-Cro's Wild and Crazy Escapades' and 'Alex the Great With a Capital G').

Favorite TV Shows:

Monk, Grey's Anatomy, Bones, Project Runway, Seinfeld. I really don't watch TV too much. It's almost kind of pointless because I like to do multiple activities at a time so, when I do sit down to watch a show, I'm usually too distracted by my computer or the crossword to pay attention to the plot. Fortunately for me, I can still follow what's going on somewhat for I don't attempt any Cryptic Crosswords. I'll leave those for the smarty-pants Alex Cross to figure out.

Favorite Books:

I love Jane Austen. I'm a girl and it's something that just comes natural to our gender. I'm also a fan of Agatha Christie's. I like mysteries and lovably eccentric detectives. Some of my other favorite books/plays include: 'The Catcher in the Rye' (J.D. Salinger), 'A Streetcar Named Desire' (Tennessee Williams), 'A Doll's House' (Henrik Ibsen), 'Mrs. Warren's Profession' (George Bernard Shaw). I'm not really a theater freak... I'll update this if I read anything worthwhile.

I am eagerly awaiting the publication of Alex Cross's forthcoming play, "The Wonderful Adventures of the Internet". Looks promising!

Favorite Quotes:

"If there was more violence in the world, we wouldn't have so many problems." - Allison Murray

"I am AWESOME!" - Alex Cross (on numerous occasions).

"Allison! says: (6:47:37 PM)
I'm already lesson
Allison! says: (6:47:40 PM)
*laughing
Allison! says: (6:47:41 PM)
wtf."

Nope, I've used a less-than brilliant pen. It looks the same, but it's the principle of it.

I think we should take five minutes between speech on Skype to truly replicate the Interpals experience. Although, if you weren't on here, you could be doing your homework quicker!

Mush mush!

(Yes, you are an Alaskan husky)

I have already done some knitting today, and in the last five minutes I have drawn something! It's not a poster, but it's from my pen, and you will hopefully enjoy it. There is a new character!

If you went to bed when I told you to go to bed then you should be awake by now. Hopefully you are 'labouring' with your homework (get it?!) so that we shall be having some chat action at 1pm PST. I am listening to Kylie of course, and I thought I would leave you a wallpost detailing everything that happened to me between the time that I woke up and the time that I settled myself in front of the computer.

1210: woke up, looked out of window, saw torrential rain, returned to the safe haven of my bed covers.
1212: took a swig of Irn-Bru, picked up The Innocent Man from bedside table (a book, not a man), started reading.
1305: heard my mother's shrill announcement that there the kettle was brewing, returned book to bedside table having read 80 pages, rolled out of bed, put some clothes on.
1308: leapt down the stairs three at a time, inspected the tea-making process, decided I didn't have enough socks on.
1309: ran upstairs, added some more socks, came back downstairs.
1310: sat myself in front of the computer.
1312: my mother arrives with a cup of tea.
1316: decide that I really fancy some ginger snaps, am unable to find them, ask my mother for assistance, she has 'tidied' them away in an unreasonable place.
1318: fill up my biscuit tin with ginger snaps.
1320: general computer business.

I will update you with part two of this story when you arrive online at 1pm PST.

I have returned from my self-imposed exile! Put those handkerchiefs away, ladies, the Crossman is back in town! And his first act on Interpals is to reply to a wallpost from the lovely Miss Allison Kate Murray.

First of all, my profile is not yet a shining beacon of light for the masses. I intend to be starting from scratch, and this is going to be my number one priority for the day. I will be forsaking sleep and food in order to make a profile worthy for your good self. Until 6:52pm, when it will be dinner time - roast dinner time! And however important you are, a shoulder of lamb and mint sauce you are not! Maybe there'll be swede! I do enjoy root vegetables. It's one of my most English traits. None of that rocket for me!

I have already started my crusade. The first Korean wallpost I receive has already been deleted, so hopefully they have entered a bunker to discuss how to find a comment that will pass my strict filtering system. They are a very industrious people, but they struggle to entertain me. Perhaps they should work less on the human genome project and more on basic conversational ability. Except JawKnee of course, he's excellent.

My music taste is not impressive or intimidating, remember? It is merely pretentious! I do not enjoy any of the bands listed in my profile and merely listen to them to look cool in front of people. Who the jesus are Sloan?

You are a photo comment slore.

Don't cry for me, Argentina. you have no right to the Falkland Islands, and the Belgrano is a stupid name for a ship. I will continue to threaten you with deletion if you are being unreasonable. But for now, I am back, and there will be no more tears! You can stalk me to your heart's content! This is the end of my first wallpost, now to sail the good ship HMS Profile Writing!
