About Me:
My job: US Navy. I fix expensive stuff. I'd rather work with people and words.
My reason for joining this site: To have nice conversations with people who are different from the people I work and live with 24/7 for these 7 months at sea.
My personality: I was raised to be polite, respectful, adventurous, independent and to speak up for myself and others.
Before I joined the Navy I was a pre-school teacher. Justice and fair-play are important to me. As is the equal participation of all. I am against elitists, bullies, backstabbers, ego trips and loudmouths.
If you are familiar with Myers-Briggs, I am an INFJ. (That's 1 measly % of the population. Don't I feel special?)
INFJ's care about the morale of those around them, avoid conflicts and hostile feelings, are affectionate, and are good listeners.
I just took a watered-down version of the MBTI and learned a lot about myself.
I regularly blog in the "notes" section and I comment on people's notes that I read. Please check them out and you'll see what's going on inside my head at certain times.

Favorite Music:
I like to dance so hip-hop is good for me. But I also like mellow stuff from all over the world. And I'm an '80s kid so PG-rated Pop music is good too.
Something about me you might think insane: I have no qualms about being the first, or the only, one on the dance floor. I prefer going out at 7PM and dancing til morning. I don't need alcohol to be good at it either. That's not arrogance. That's a simple fact, bucko. ;-P
On my Ipod's top 25 most played list:
Not too much dance music on this list because I run and work out frequently.
Ready Steady Go- Paul Oakenfold
Zero- Smashing Pumpkins
Only One- Goo Goo Dolls
Injection- Rise Against
Sometimes- Si*Se
Vertigo- U2
i'm Shipping up To Boston- Dropkick Murphys
Would I lie to you? -Eurythmics
1,2 Step- Ciara
The truth- Si*Se
More Shine- Si*Se
(about 6 more by Si*Se)
Shy- by Ani Difranco
Million Miles Away- Offspring
Intergalactic- Beastie Boys
little Things- Bush
DOA- Foo Fighters
Tracks Of My Tears- Smokey Robinson

Favorite TV Shows:
I rarely watch TV. I am never interested in new shows. I'm highly critical and very picky. Luckily my friends are determined to fight through my protests and share their shows with me. I usually get hooked after that. I admit I might be too hard on TV.
Lost; Heroes; Battlestar Galactica; Survivor; Seinfeld; Beauty and the Geek!
I like Extras and the British version of Friends called Coupling. The Office is hard to watch but funny.

I like that you have both Gandhi AND G. Costanza in your quote section.
I couldn't find those notes and I heard they are a good reading material.

Netflix is one of the greatest things ever invented by mankind, that's for sure!
And I also enjoy an occasional blended drink from certain unnamed coffee shops, though I actually tend to buy them from Coffee Bean more of than not, and they're usually the coffee-free ones.
Yeah, my plan all along has been to go backpacking on my own through Europe. It would be nice to go with someone else, I suppose, but then I wouldn't be able to go to every place I want to go. Plus, I just like being on my own much of the time; that's not say that I think some people get in the way or anything, but...oh who am I kidding, that is what I'm trying to say haha! I pretty much want it to be a sort of spiritual exercise, like you said.

How long before you're back home? I've been wanting to see this movie for a while and it's going to be on sometime in February. It was made in 1945 with Dorothy McGuire, James Dunn, and Joan Blondell. Do you like old movies?
