Hello,

Thanks for your good wishes for our country and our new president. I'm hopeful too that this will be a start of many good things for the US, including improved relations with other countries. I agree that Obama's win has been inspiring for many people, especially African-Americans, who now may believe that they can achieve anything in our land--a remarkable turnaround from just 40 years ago.

So are you a freelance iillustrator, or do you work for a firm? I'm in the counseling field myself.

Thank you, Andrius, for the link!  It looks like it's screening in New York City in late-October, but there's no news yet if it will be showing anywhere else.  I'll look for it, but in the meantime, I'll see if I can check out some YouTube clips.  This is just the kind of "backstory" I would appreciate prior to my visit next year; it would help me to better understand just how precious -- and deserved -- the independence is now.  I'm halfway through the book "The Baltic - A New History Of The Region And Its People" by Alan Palmer.  It covers a wide patch of historical ground, all the way back to the Viking era.

I will definitely enjoy talking with you more! -- Paul

Hello Andrius, and welcome to Interpals!  I'm from Texas (USA) and have been doing research on Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in preparation for a long vacation there next summer, and I am impressed with the beauty and history of the three countries.  My trip will focus on music, architecture and cultural history, starting in Estonia with the Song & Dance Festival in Tallinn and concluding with the Tall Ships Regatta in Klaipeda.  I would like to learn more about Siauliai, and I would like to learn of good ethnic folk bands and musicians in the Baltic region.  Have a great day -- Paul
