About Me:
Hi there,
My name's Daria, I'm 25 and I love writing letters as probably most of u here.
In short, about me: I'm an English teacher, but I guess my real passion is learning not teaching. I love classical literature and poetry. I write a bit myself. I'm interested in different cultures, languages, psychology and mental disorders. I love travelling.

Favorite Quotes:
"Life's but a walking shadow; a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more: it is a tale

"I have seen the Bird of Paradise, she has spread herself before me, and I shall never be the same again. There is nothing to be afraid of. Nothing. Exactly. The Life I am trying to grasp is the me that is trying to grasp it."

Hi Daria!
I used to major in English in college and I am a writer of children's books, plays, short fiction for adults and children, essays and poetry. I live in Kansas, a state in the Midwestern US and do volunteer work at a Catholic hospital. I enjoy reading but I have trouble finding a wonderful book to get hooked, you see what I mean?
Oh, well..........let's see...oh, I refuse to see my diabilities as an obstacles to my life but help me perserve in my life. I have profound deafness and cerebral palsy, both from birth and have gone to college to get a BA in English. Having a college degree is the most accomplishment I've done in my life.
I was in Malmo, Sweden in May 1998 and loved the beautiful country! I plan to return to Stockholm someday to visit the Royal Palace, Parliament and other historical sites. I've also visited Toronto, Ottawa, Winnpeg, Copenhagen, London, Converty, Edinburgh, Stradford upon Avon and Manchester. You can say I'm a global tourist, of course!
So, well, I wish you a Happy New Year and take care in 2009!
Tom

Greeting from Australia.
Thought I'd message you since we kinda have something in common.
I tried to get into English teaching last year myself. But I think I'm too soft to handle teenagers. So I gave up because I had a bad experience with being a student teacher. Maybe I'd like it better to be a lecturer than a high school teacher. I did enjoy the initial experience though.
How is teaching for you?
