I have never really been comfortable talking (read - blabbering) about myself, not on account of any lack of material, or dearth of evidence to corroborate the material, or for that matter lack of enough words in the English dictionary..​.may the editors of Webster's and Oxford's et al rest in peace. The reason is a bit more subtle than that. Its because,i'd rather be explored - even at the risk of being misjudged and misinterpret​ed, than defined by an array of carefully chosen words as they do while chisellin a dead man's edifice.

So who am i? Yup, i'm a member of the human species, considering the fact that i'm not being hunted by SETI; i'm a guy,and i'm not open to any debate on that front; i am a bengali indian - a chance of fate would be my best explanation.​ Facts like these, i'm sure, will not interest anyone, leave alone catching anyone by his lapels (kindly excuse me for not using the more politically correct 'her'). So i'll skip the excruciating​ details.

Courtsey the limitations graciously imposed upon us, i'll be short, though not necessarily sweet. Most people would call me a decent guy; not that i'm contradictin​g, but i have a temper which tends to flare at times; an obstinate streak which i have genetically inherited; a dangerous share of cynicism and contempt for many a thing; i'm an atheist, however scandalous, antisocial, blasphemous,​ and sacrilegious​ might that sound; i have an ever-present​ iconoclastic​ urge in me - i never like playing by the book, even if that means defying the established societal norms. I am not a model person for you blue-eyed utopians out there. But i like to believe i'm not a flawed guy as well. Perhaps i lie somewhere in between, like the iconic "gray"​ sandwiched between black and white - being gray, you'll find shades both black and white in me - the latter, with all due humility, heavily dominating over the former. But yes, like the archetypal protagonists​ of a noir book or movie,i do have traits, which if not controlled by a tight leash, might lead to the occurance of a series of unfortunate events. Thankfully, i have a tight leash on my conscience, at least that's what i like to believe.

Like any other person, i am a concoction of contrasts. I like art, though technically i'm an engineer. i am an ardent cinephile and a self-proclai​med cineaste. i like reading books which i want to read, not what the critics would have me read. i believe in the concept of 'adda'. i'm not addicted to any drink (coffee, tea, whiskey, beer and the likes), but that doesn't mean i don't like 'em, in fact there are times when i love 'em, esp. when the afore-mentio​ned adda is in full throttle. i like good food though i'm no epicure. i'm no computer whiz, but i do like the monitor screaming into my face. i have a deep regard for friendships,​ though i am a loner by choice. i'm neither a masochist, nor a narcissist. i'm neither a feminist nor a male chauvinist. i don't fall in love very easily,and yet love is my nemesis. i don't have any pathological​ tendencies, contrarily, i don't give any **** about nirvana as well. i am these and many more...more than you would be willing to listen or i'd even care to explicitly state. All i'll say is, to change a famous quote lest i be accused of plagiarism, "You ain't seen nothing yet".

So let me leave it here - there are times, as now, when i feel a few unsaid words are worth more than a thousand **** verbose statements. So, I'll leave the sordid, the enticing, the ludicrous, the repelling, the canonising, the damning, and the mundane details of my existence for some other time and some other place. Right now,let there be silence, and well, try listening to, as the famous oxymoron goes, the sounds of silence...On​ second thoughts,wha​t the ****.
