About Me:

Hi there! Some quick background information about me. I attend classes at night and work during the day. I'm a junior at the University of Texas at San Antonio and am working on attaining dual degrees in Information Systems and Infrastructure Assurance. During the day I substitute teach at my old high school. I temporarily taught a small Computer Science class over the course of five months.

My dad was in the Air Force and when he was stationed at an air base near Madrid, Spain, I was born. Unfortunately I spent only six weeks there, but I still have my dual citizenship and wish to visit Spain sometime again (perhaps after I've improved my Spanish?). I then spent a year in El Paso, Texas and have spent the rest of my life in San Antonio. Occasionally I'll go on up to the Champaign/Urbana area around Illinois to visit my parents, run around corn fields and take in the Radon.

I've traveled to various states across the United States on family vacations and spent Spring Break 2007 driving around the southwestern United States. I've had some of the most fun by simply driving and watching the sun set and hours later, rise! I've been to Italy on two occasions and got lost when I was 5 and thanks to some older Italian women, an awesome Italian policeman and some mysterious Spanish woman, I was reunited with my family.

And yes, I do have sideburns. Other than making it a fun conversational piece with my students, I'm growing it for a nerdier reason than you might expect. ;)

Requests:

I'm wishing to contact people either locally or globally. I want to expand my horizons and wish to learn more about the people that I share this world with. Have a good life? A bad life? A common life filled with work and/or school day in and out? Got a fun story? A sad one? One that is too real (or unreal) to have occurred? Is it 3 AM where you are and you don't know why you are still up?  Have anything you wish to talk about? If so, then feel free to share?

Language Exchange Requests:

Mi espanol es muy malo pero quiero hablar, escribir y estudiar espanol mas.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

People (what is it that makes us tick?), computers (technology in general), running, teaching, anime, manga, various types of music, and different systems (forms of governments, school systems, etc), watching movies with friends (a hobby of sorts) and playing video games. I'm also pretty good at getting distracted. :D

Favorite Music:

It changes quite often, but as of now:

Danny Elfman
Freezepop
Oingo Boingo
Unkle

And some favorites now and then:
Electric Light Orchestra

And any epic sounding movie soundtrack created by an orchestra.

Favorite Movies:

It varies quite often. I have to say that I don't have any one movie in particular that I must absolutely see. I watch a vast array of movies... action, adventure, drama, even the occasional romantic one and documentaries. I'm huge on documentaries.

Favorite TV Shows:

Aqua Teenage Hunger Force

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

I'm sure you could drive 900 miles in a day, I wouldn't have a clue how many km's that converts too but I've done 600km's in a few hours though that was going 100km's almost all the way lol  iguess that's saying something though.
Oh are you having a reunion of sorts? You have a pretty large-ish family I would say. :) I wish I could have a family reunion...but lol I live with my parents and siblings for this year.

Oh how're you going to end up teaching with two business degrees? That's interesting I always thought I'd be a teacher just becuase it was the easiest thing to do.

I was given this great opportunity to go and volunteer on an archaeology dig just down the road from where I live and it pretty much opened a new door for me so yeah I was invited on a few digs after that first one and the professors kept joking around and asking when I was going to sign up for uni and I just made the decision this year pretty much.

That's why I want to visit the USA...plus it's ultra large and there'd be a heck of a lot of places to visit, I could most likely live happily there for a few years just to travel and stuff but that'd be a long shot. But yeah for now I'll be happy to just live in New Zealand and be a low key Maori living in the city :).

I think New Zealand is diverse in culture and religions too, I wouldn't say we all live in harmony though. I've had a few choice words thrown at me for being a native and such and I've heard worse being said to other 'non white' people. But oh well the world is what it is and it can't be changed over night.

In a way I wouldn't want to live anywhere but where I am, I feel it's safer then other small places, probably because all my family is here. What do you study?

I'm hopefully (fingers crossed) am going to begin studying archaeology and Maori studies next year which will be ultra fantastic! I think I've found where I want to be with my career and later life, it should be great. :)
