Hi Dot,
  Must have logged off and gone to bed as you contacted me. Story of my life, bad timing. Your profile is not showing much information at present so hard to know what shared interests we have,  i'm sure it will be fun finding out. Never met anyone from Texas before and that's a good start, as i like to find out about new peoples and places.
  I will  tell you a little about where i live, Its a small and ancient town of about 65,000 called Kings Lynn. Its situated on the river Great Ouse about 2 miles from the sea. i live towards the North of the town. A five minute drive away,  is a 1,000 year old castle and two minutes further, Sandringham one of our Queens homes. The whole royal family normally spend the christmas period there, you can see them and even talk to them if you are lucky. Best chance to do this is on Christmas day when they attend the local church. The coast and beach are a 15 minute drive from my house, Sometimes we take the grandkids there or just visit the small towns and villages. A lot of which are picturesque  places with little antique shops and ancient pubs. All the building tend to be crafted in the local stones, a reddish brown car-stone or flint.
   Its quite a busy time for us at present, having a extension to our two bedroom Bungalow. Doing this so the lounge looks over what is for a England quite a big back garden. Suspect it would be considered to be small in Texas. I enjoy the garden most when we have friends and family over for a BBQ or just a few drinks and a chat. A lot of  weekends in the summer, weather permitting.
