About Me:

Apparently, doctors are bold enough to say that the best doctor is oneself. I wish this was true. I wish I actually 'knew' myself.

     What I know:

I am very liberal. I believe that everyone should get and equal opportunity in life, and hey, if the government needs to intervene for this to happen, I'm all for it. After all the government is here to secure the happiness of the people, right? Or is it here to...

I am a secular humanist/existentialist. Whether a god exists or not does not matter. We are here right now, and that is it. Acting or choosing in a right way is essentially affirming the value of our act. Therefore we do not only act for ourselves, but for the world.
...talk about responsibility.

"The most thought-provoking thing in our thought-provoking time is that we are still not thinking."

I love to make people laugh. Trust me. I will do anything.

Oh, I'm terrible at introductions...

Requests:

I would like to meet someone that I can talk to about anything.

Someone that can give and take advice.

Someone that can make me laugh.

Someone I can learn from in positive AND negative ways.

I think its funny how people say things like "Don't message me if you are over the age of..."
...people are capable of learning things from 75 year olds just as much as they are from someone who is 5...or 15.
That is probably the main request that I have...to learn from people regardless of... anything.

Oh, did I mention that I'm very bad at introductions?

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

I am very into music. I believe that music is the catalyst to happiness and the wonders of the world...
I play bass (mostly jazz music), but can also play the guitar (laughably) and drums.
I love discovering new music and will gladly give and take suggestions (links are great!).

I am absolutely fascinated with history and philosophy. I love to sit in my bed at night, stare at the ceiling, and think "Holy shit..." I plan on pursuing a career in either of these fields.

I would like to get into photography, but I'm not very sure as to where to start...

Favorite Music:

Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Beirut, Pale Young Gentlemen, Russian Circles, Holy ****, Bob Marley, Charles Mingus, Thee Silver Mount Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-la-la-Band,The Polyphonic Spree, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Set Fire To Flames, Mono, Sparklehorse, Tobacco, Portugal. Fleischmann, Portishead, Duo 505, ISAN, Saxon Shore, Andrew Bird, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, Duke Ellington..., Pedro the Lion, the Beatles, Regina Spektor,
Jazz, blues, classical...

You know, good music...

Favorite Movies:

Movies are great, but I'm not one to spend most of my time watching them.

That was a complete lie.

28 Days Later
Requiem for a Dream
A Clockwork Orange
The Life Aquatic
American Beauty
The Matrix
The Science of Sleep
Dig!

You know...good movies...

Favorite TV Shows:

Thanks to TV and for the convenience of TV, you can only be one of two kinds of human beings, either a liberal or a conservative.

Favorite Books:

KURT VONNEGUT

Thus Spoke Zarathustra
The Stranger
Demian
Siddhartha
The Great Gatsby
Philosophy books...

You know...good books...
                 ...

Favorite Quotes:

"Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt"

"If I take death into my life, acknowledge it, and face it squarely, I will free myself from the anxiety of death and the pettiness of life - and only then will I be free to become myself."

"You are only afraid if you are not in harmony with yourself"

"Mystery and wonder did light up the valley"

Ouch...the sarcasm...it hurts...

It's incredible. It might be hard to get through because Nabokov makes a lot of references to things and he doesn't bother to explain them.

I've never read it and I've never heard of it either. What's it about?

I would like to get into photography, but I'm not very sure as to where to start...

go to an abandoned place, take pictures of trees. Optionally, make a post-rock album and put it as an album art with the title : Trees penetrated your sister"

I knew it. Your loss ;)

I hated the Great Gatsby. It just didn't make me feel anything, and what good is a book if it doesn't create feelings for the reader?

I haven't read This Side of Paradise yet. I just bought it and was wondering if you had so you could give your opinion.

Ada, or Ardor: A Family Chronicle is my favorite book. Have you read it?

Thinker it is. :D  Unfortunately, I'm surrounded by many of those who don't "think" enough, if you know what I mean.  I don't like T9 either!! It's so complicated!! haha  Just a little.

What do you like to do for fun, little mister?

Oh you didn't like me did you? There might be some sort of consequence you're going to have to deal with now...

:)

I also love Kurt Vonnegut, but I hated the Great Gatsby. Have you ever read This Side of Paradise?
And
the Stranger was spectacular...
