Hello!

I will make a desperate attempt to be brief (it happens to me very rarely though, so enjoy the moment!). I don’t drink vodka (but you won’t believe it, will you?), being a genuine Russian I understand life only backwards but always live forwards (after all that happened in my country I am still an optimist), also I am my own heaven and hell haha.

I live in a looooooong Russian city. It is so long that stretches along the Volga for more than 50 miles and visiting friends for me is like going to another town for you. It is a good place for foreign travelers who want to get a real culture shock and tons of unforgettabl​e experience of being completely crushed against the bus window during some rush hours. Lying somewhere in the very bottom of this bus, crashed and dragged through the mud, lost between bags with potatoes, you will still be able to see the notice written by the witty driver: “10 minutes of horror and you are finally at home!!!” or something like “Get in, pay and shut up”, or “this bus is stretchy, so there is enough place for everyone”. And yes, the town used to be called Stalingrad, a very important battlefield of WW2, so if you are interested, you are welcome.

I am a student majoring in linguistics,​ which is a bit boring by itself unlike neurolinguis​tics for example. Communicatio​n theory is great because it teaches you how to pay attention to non-verbal means of communicatio​n such as mimics, gestures, eyes, chin, the way you walk, frown, smile and sneeze finally! While words are the slowest and worst way to communicate.​ I can help you with all languages I can speak but everyone can, yes? So I suggest some information exchange about culture differences in non-verbal communicatio​n. 

We, Russians, are great philosophers​. It means we take a simple thing and make it as complicated as possible. E.g. Hobby! hm…It’s something you do to spend your free time. So you do it, you do it, you do it and then you understand that you’ve got no free time at all!!! Your hobby takes all your time but you can’t call it “a hobby” anymore because you don’t have free time! You don’t just have free time – you also have no hobby! Sad no less! While a bit earlier you had both of them! Except for complicating​ things non-stop and being fond of making lives of people around me more chaotic, I enjoy trying strange things. For example what I discovered for me 6 years ago was a special science that explains why study while sleeping is much better and more effective. It will take long to explain, so if our interests overlap, it is great. Don’t forget to tell me about it.

Oh, music I like! Even more than my hobbies. Although the music I like is not actually always what I like listening to when I feel like listening to something I like. But there are likely times I don’t truly like, like doing what I don’t feel like doing or doing which is more like doing something you do all the time, but not like doing something you have never done before.

Putting the jokes aside, I enjoy listening to many kinds of music. Coldplay (“Scientist”​), Sheryl Crow (her latest album is not that bad), Lifehouse, The Calling, Joseph Arthur “Honey and the Moon” is ok too.
