Hmm I'm atheist. I don't go to church except for big events like funerals, weddings or baptisms etc... because my family do  it traditionall​­y even if they are not really catholic lol that's just a tradition. Personnally I don't believe in all that but going to church for these events doesn't annoy me.
BUT I celebrate christmas with the christmas tree and all haha. As everyone. Catholic or not, it's just a happy moment and we don't think about religion. It's a good opportunity to meet family and give presents =). Happy happy~ I like it. Beautiful scene haha

Yeah we only have to learn things by heart in scientific subjects. That doesn't make us smart and it's not useful for our life haha.
I totally agree with you on this point =). We study for exams and to get a good job.
But luckily in french school, at least in mine, we use our brain and teachers want us to think by ourselves and to work on our imagination etc... They repeat us 100 times "be curious about life", "study to be able to think and get knowledge for you, and your pleasure"​­, "get your own opinions"​, "don't follow the flock" etc... haha I had really good teachers in high school. We could see they liked teaching us, and they taught us many things which isn't really related to their subject but to their own experiences and told us many anecdotes etc. I loved my high school teachers haha. In my literary course, they were like that (history, philosophy, literature or languages teachers). But math and bio or physics teachers weren't like that u_u. That's a shame.
