About Me:

I'm 31 years old and I'm both French and Spanish. I'm also married to a German man and I live in Germany. With that background, it's hardly surprising that I decided to study languages and translation! Languages are probably the only thing I'm good at and that I enjoy working with. Although I have to say that German is causing me quite a bit of grief at the moment...

I've lived and grown up in Spain first, then in France and if I had to pick between the two countries, I would say that Spain would definitely be my favourite. I truly and honestly feel at home there. I've also lived in England for nearly seven years and I had the chance to live near London, which I consider it to be the most beautiful city I've been to.

Requests:

In my previous version of this profile I mentioned that I would be opened to everyone but I think that I have to be honest with myself and get my facts right: although I'm pretty open-minded, I do get bored easily and one line messages tend to make me reach for the 'delete' button faster than anything else and for those who haven't quite caught that in the process, I AM MARRIED and do not plan on adopting any other man into my life (one is definitely enough ;).

From having been on this website for a while, I have noticed that I tend to get along really well with Anglosaxons and Germans. I haven't had a lot of experience with other nations yet and I'm not opposed to it either!

If you are honest and a decent person who likes to keep in touch with other people and share good stories, then give me a shout!

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

At the moment, I'm fascinated by Japanese culture and I'm trying to get my act together and start learning Japanese seriously. A Japanese friend of mine recently sent me lots and lots of origami paper and I've become hooked! So far, my little figurines don't look much like anything but I'm improving every day!

I have also an obsession with the series JAG and therefore with anything to do with the military (as a few of my friends here can testify ;o).

I also love going shopping (without my husband!!!) and going for walks and discovering new places.

My favourite evening would be having dinner withmy husband (he's an unbelievable cook!) and watch some nice movie afterwards or to just simply meet up with a few friends and have a quiet drink with them.

I enjoy pen palling a lot whether via email of snail mail and its a great way for me to practice my languages and discover new people.

Favorite Music:

I listen to lots of different styles of music depending on my mood and I'm always looking to learn about even more styles (except 80's music...) but for now, here are my favourites: Barenaked Ladies, Nick Cave, The Cure, Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Mana, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Queens of the Stone Age, Lily Allen, Evanescence, Hole, Amy Winehouse, Kooks, Lifehouse, Snow Patrol, Our Lady Peace, Jack Johnson, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blind Melon, The Beach Boys, Audioslave, Steppenwolf, Lenny Kravitz, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Little Eva ;), The Von Bondies, The Subways, Green Day, Linking Park, Breaking Benjamin, Mark Lanegan, Kaiser Chiefs, Soundgarden, Staind, Arctic Monkeys, and many others...

Favorite Movies:

Ghost World, Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Juno, El Dia de la Bestia, Tesis, The Ring (Japanese Version), The Grudge (Japanese Version), Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting and a few others too.

Favorite TV Shows:

All time favourites:
- JAG
- NCIS
- Third Watch
- Criminal Minds
- The Shield
- Rescue Me

Also pretty good ones:
- Ugly Betty
- Desperate Housewives
- Big Love
- Battlestar Galactica
- Lost
- Home and Away (a girl needs her daily fix of soap!)

Favorite Books:

I read (and re-read!) quite a few books on different subjects, both fiction and non-fiction, but I always seem to be attracted by language books, books by Stephen King and Isabel Allende but most importantly I prefer to read books in their original language as so much gets lost in translation (I should know!).

Favorite Quotes:

"All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves. We must die to one life before we can enter another." Anatole France
