Hey Valerie, how are you? I came across your profile when I was looking for penpals. Where will you stay in the US? And for how long? Are you gonna work or study here? I've moved here two years ago from Germany and I really love it here. :-) I've never met someone from Hong Kong. I'd love to hear from you, have a nice day!

Here is a true thought and I am not being funny. Chinese people should use their real name and not a Hollywood name. I am sure your parents did not name you Valerie. Teachers often give students an American name, but I never liked that idea. I think Chinese should be Chinese. It is better to show respect to you and your culture if you are not turned into just another American. It is why I picked the Chinese name of Hong Bao. I wanted to show how silly it is to change your name. Problem is my Chinese students like it. :(
It is true. All Americans are funny and easy going. It is because we all have four toes instead of five. Ask your American co-workers to take off their shoes and you will see it is true.
Americans laugh at anything and everything. It is the result of voting in elections.
I prefer to make a bad smell in an elevator and then look shocked, blaming someone else for it. I would say to you "Valerie, not again. This is the third time this month. See a doctor!!!".
Yes, Americans are never very serious. :D
