I remember our old library in the elementary school I went to. No one really likes to go there because they said it was haunted ha ha. One time we were assigned ( my group ) to clean it. It was funny cause my classmates were all sticking together and in a small sound they ran away like lightning ha ha!...they scared the crap out of me...with all their fuss about the place. Honestly it was very creepy there....the silence was scary as if someone was watching us. Oh well..old school story of mine :-)

I also wish to see other Christmas market. There is one in Dortmund but it is far. The fact that I will be very busy at work that I will not have so much time for leisure window shopping. Plus the fact that they increase the Train cost too. Everything is expensive now here...people are really complaining.

I wish I could see more old buildings. There are houses here that was built in 1900. It is really fun to look at it. Sometimes I wonder how it could stand for a very long time.

The Christmas market is open today here...but I didn't walk around to see what they have. It is always the same every year anyway. And I am wearing a good jacket which is not advisable when you go there. Some people are so clumsy with the food that they are eating while walking and the next thing you know you will have some stain on your jacket. So I didn't risk it. Next time I will go there wearing my old jacket...then I will not mind that much if it get some stain...and it is black ha ha!

I have seen some pictures of Essen before the war and it is really a pity that the beautiful buildings were bombed. I wish I'd seen it...
I can understand why Rutger didn't find it interesting...he is a kid and wish to see cartoons or comics stuff than watch history. But when he grows up he will have an appreciation for it :-)

I think they also sell poffertjes pan here. But it is not that popular, I think. The people rather go out and buy a small potion of it than make it themselves.

I know that you will have a hard time controlling the kids that is why I asked if you are going to have a kiddy party. I think I will go nuts if I have to take care a bunch of kids in a trip. Staying home is a good idea just put away some stuff that will break just incase the kids decided to run around the house ha ha!

The suspense of the surprise is killing me ha ha! I will wait with anticipation :-)

I bet Rutger is excited about his B-day. It is better to have some treats for the kids. Are you going to have a B-day party for him too?
