Hi, well, im on the JET programme for graduates and we work as assistant language tutors in public schools. We get the unruly kids and are subservient to the japanese teachers who are largely clueless. Others get more autonomy at private schools for adults but the working conditions in japan for all teachers are going down hill. I got into it by accident while researching teaching abroad because i really fancied the challenge.

Preparation is tough but get a TEFL certificate and a good degree, these will help. Learn the language and learn the laws. make contacts with japanese people on penpal sites because you might get some private language work too. definately visit here first if you can. its an acquired taste.

Being a foreigner can either be like being a rock star, like with my current job. you need a lot of tolerence and kindess to help 600 kids a day. but its rewarding. But theres a lot of prejudice and they have less respect for us too. Maybe you are used to these kinds of things. Japan is insulated and very oddball n frustrating place to  be.

now a days here in Bombay weather is very hot, yes bombay is very different city in India. I have somany favorite movies, so i dont mention that all. I  recomend old Don movie that is AMITAB BACHAN  movie, i dont like new Don movie. My favorite actors Mr. Amitab bachan, Abhishek Bachan and Sanjay Dutt.
