About Me:

I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and I am 62 years old. I used to be a teacher but now I write books and reviews for a magazine. I have two daughters and my home is in the centre of Amsterdam looking at the big river Amstel just in front of my window.

Requests:

writing e mail with intelligent and beautiful women about culture, arts and life. I like to learn from people and I hope to give them something back

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

I am very interested in Classical Culture and I write together with other people educational books and in a magazine for classical culture I write reviews of museum exhibitions.
I like to go to theatre, concerts and museums and I like very much to go to a restaurant and eat my favourite (Italian) food. Almost every year I travel to Italy, because that is the country I love very much.

Favorite Music:

Classical Music , Old-Jazz (no modern fusion), Italian music (Gian Maria Testa, Adriano Celentano e Vinicio Capossela), Folk (Dylan of course and the too low valued Loudon Wainwright) and Country, and in particular The Dixie Chicks and Lucinda Williams, Car Wheels on a gravel road.
Also all-time greatests as Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen.

Favorite Movies:

European movies (Italian, French)
Meglio Giuventu, 8 Femmes, Swimming pool, Volver and anything of Almadovar. Also a lot of Dogma movies and neue Deutsche cinema.

Favorite TV Shows:

Soprano's, Six feet under, Spooks, Dr House.

Favorite Books:

A lot of Dutch writers and my nr 1 is W.F. Hermans
Italian writers in translation: Sandro Veronesi, Giovanni Chiara, Andrea de Carlo, Rosetta Loy, Leonardo Sciascia and Dante and Bocaccio

Favorite Quotes:

Tantum religio potuit suadere malorum (Lucretius)
So much religion could lead into evil.

This quote is famous and like Epicuros he believed that religion and the followers (in the case of the offering of Iphigeneia for letting the Greeks go into war) has that power.
