About Me:
I'm an out of place Scot living in England supposed to be with my partner but he has buggered off down south (inconsiderately making money to pay our mortgage) and he's rubbish at writing so I have to look elsewhere for that satisfaction... hence I am here. I have two dogs and one 17 year old son (not sure which are the wildest animals). I work in admin but come September I start my degree to teach and I also write, write and write some more. I've got a book of short stories published but my ambition is for novels. I love a laugh and I have a sarcastic sense of humour so don't be afraid to make a quirky quip or two.
Requests:
Anybody with a sense of humour and a spare few minutes to write. I would say no weirdos but sometimes they write the best stuff so bring it on one and all. If I think you're too much of psycho then I just won't write back...
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
Sex.... isn't it everybody's but they just don't say it. Oh yeah but I also like the usual - reading, writing, do cross stitching (took it up to stop smoking 10 years ago and it stuck), lurrvvvvv movies and anything with murrrderrrr in it.
Favorite Music:
you name it I probably love it (except for jazz, rap, hip hop or thrash metal). Everything else from classical to country to swing to popular metal
Favorite Movies:
Too many ... but Rocky Horror, Identity, Seven Brides, Ferris Bueller, Godfather 1 & 2, scarface, gone with the wind (see my taste in movies is like everything else, I like loads but don't confuse that with liking everything)
Favorite TV Shows:
24, without a trace, life on mars, spaced, extras, the office, ashes to ashes, star trek, law & order, dexter, etc
Favorite Books:
My spare room is lined floor to ceiling with bookshelves so you name it and I probably read it.
Favorite Quotes:
Come on up to the lab and see what's on the slab. I'll make you shake with antici.....................................................pation. Frank, Rocky Horror

Hello and Greetings from Australia!
hahaha, I did that too but am hook to it so there is this nagging need to finish the book. I read David Peltzers too, finished the first book, "A Child called it" in 3 days. Yah, I agree, it's time for him to moved on now.
I heard about Diana Gabaldon books - the Outlanders series but no luck in getting to it yet - I usually borrow the books from the library and will only make the purchase if I like the book or the author. I am running out space for all those books. I have not heard of Barbara Erskine though, would check her out later. Thanks : )

Hi Amanda...hope you're having a nice weekend. I'm barricaded indoors to avoid the 100-degree plus weather outside...just reading, napping, and playing here on Interpals...an easy, lazy weekend so far...the best kind since Monday will get here all too soon.

Yeah, me too and the same thing happended with Torey Hayden's books. She is one of those authors who has the ability to put a smile on my face while breaking it into pieces......kind of like a love/hate relationship *lol*
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile and reply...

Was born in London. As for what we should have done, who knows? You might have gone to Canada and been run over by a bus. We do what we think is best at the time.
It was a pleasure to talk to you. I'm here an hour or so a day...otherwise, I can give you my email.

Oh well - I was always restless, and spent a few years travelling around. Me and an Australian heard there was jobs on the boats in Iceland, so we took a chance and went there, and there were jobs. I've always been lucky. Dont know why. Done nothing to deserve it. I came here by chance, and I've come to love it. But one has to live somewhere, after all...so you might as well have a view to go with it.
Ah...sounds idyllic...but paradise is always the greener grass. That said, it's the nearest I can get to it.
I remember going to Edinburgh, years ago, on my way to Iceland for the fishing. It was snowing, couldn't get on the boat that night, had no money for a hotel. The cops gave me a cell - medieval, underground, with a door of inch-thick iron bars. And tea and toast in the morning. In London they would have laughed and kicked me out
As for writing - sadly, the perfect place for writing (and I know, because I have it) doesn't produce perfect words. But we have to do the best we can.
