About Me:
Ok, I guess I should put something on here - first thing about me: I don't really like filling in these things, but anyway. I'm a student of English and French, and I want to be a teacher when I'm finished university.
The reason I'm on here is that I love getting in touch with people from all over the globe, anywhere is fine with me. I think it's one of the most enriching things getting to know people from all over.
Other things I like: poetry, painting, philosophy, LANGUAGES !!, traveling, the beach and hot weather, swimming, snowboarding, having a blast... :)
Requests:
I'm mainly looking for girls aged 18-26 from all over. Friendship only! Preferably girls I can chat with. Don't just write one message and then never get back to me again - or well, if you do, don't write me in the first place haha ;o) - I would prefer emails, but would also want to write letters with some people (otherwise it gets to stressful ;o))
Language Exchange Requests:
I'm willing to help anyone with their German, English or French. Planning to take up Italian again soon and would love to learn new things in Swedish (not that I know much already haha). I'm also interested in Portuguese and Turkish ;o)
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
I love...
*the sea and everything connected with it (the fresh air, the smell of it, sunny days, walking along the beach, swimming, relaxing, getting tanned...)
*people who are open for other cultures and want to know more about them
* individuality and creativity (in all different kinds of ways)
* nature and lying in the grass that smells like spring (freshly mown grass!!! I love it haha)
* Christmas and everything connected with it
* learning languages - not from a theoretical point of view but finding out how they are really spoken in everyday life, hence different dialects, slang words..
* philosophical discussions (from hard-core philosophy haha (preferably existentialism (Sartre, Camus, Heidegger) to different views on politics, religion, society - and accepting everybody's viewpoint as long as they can give reasons for their views)
* working with children
* fin de siècle literature (esp. Baudelaire & Verlaine) > French literature in general
* nature (snow, green lawns, beaches, rivers, lakes...) but also the buzzing city life (couldn't live without it!!!) - e.g. sitting on the balcony in summer and listening to the sound of the cars that pass by and the people chattering
* cooking AND eating (in a healthy way, but not being overly obsessed with fancy diets and stuff)
I don't like...
* arrogance and people showing off when they have nothing really to brag about
* people who think their country is the only country worth living in and all others are inferior to them
* parochialism
* sitting in classes where you get the feeling that the teacher is not really *teaching* you anything but just showing off his 'vast' knowledge (hence, professors that are unable to teach)
* dishonesty and hypocrisy
* people who follow rules slavishly without thinking or acting themselves
