About Me:
My name is Ashley. I currently live in Dallas, TX, was originally born in Anaheim, CA, and am planning on moving to Norman, OK sometime in the near future. If you can't tell, I'm a somewhat restless girl. ;)
I love the idea of traveling and, hopefully, I am going to start classes soon to learn as many languages as I can, starting with Russian and French. (Though that, by no means, means that I can currently speak a word of the two. I do, however, have a friend who is almost fluent in French and a friend starting Russian so they could help me out if I needed.) I would love to work for the government or some kind of business as a translator. I think it would be a lot of fun.
When you first meet me, I tend to clam up for a bit. I'm a little shy but after a while, friends find me spontanious, spunky and quick. I'm very empathetic, almost to a fault, and I like to try and make people feel better when they're down. I'm also patient, open-minded and thoughtful; I put a lot of consideration into what I'll say next.
Part of that comes from the fact that I like to write. I tell stories best through character conversation and I've thought up pretty much any way a conversation can go. :)
I also sing and dance and draw a bit. Art is a big deal for me and music is one of my passions. I have a guitar and a piano, but I tend to just mess around and try different chords and melodies during my down-time. I'm hardly an expert with either instrument.
That's all I can think to mention at the moment, really, but anything else you can message me to find out.

Favorite Movies:
Generally, I prefer a good Action/Comedy over most, but I also enjoy Action and Comedy respectively, Musicals, Mysteries, Thrillers and the occasional Chick Flick.
Some of my favorites would have to be "Labyrinth", "Jurassic Park III", "Transformers", "Cloverfield", "Clue", "Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl", "Latter Days", "The Color Of Friendship", "The Holiday" and "007: Goldeneye".

Favorite TV Shows:
I watch a lot of TV but there aren't nearly as many shows that I watch devotedly. My favorites are "NCIS", "Criminal Minds", "Ghost Hunters", "Ninja Warrior" and "Wipeout".
Favorite Books:
I don't read too much; most of what I do read are fanfictions online. I do have a few favorite books, however, which include "Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire" by J.K. Rowling, "Mass Effect: Revelation" by Drew Karpyshyn, "Shoeless Joe" by W.P. Kinsella, "All The Kings Men" by Robert Penn Warren, and "Criminal Minds: Jumpcut" by Max Allan Collins.
Favorite Quotes:
"If men could only know each other, they would neither idolize nor hate." (Elbert Hubbard)
"Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed." (G.K. Chesterton)
"Nothing is easier than to denounce the evil doer. Nothing more difficult than understanding him." (Fyodor Dostoevsky)
"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls. The most massive characters are seared with scars." (Khalil Gibran)
"A boy doesn't have to go to war to be a hero; he can say he doesn't like pie when he sees there isn't enough to go around." (Edward W. Howe)
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." (Abraham Lincoln)
"Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better." (King Whitney Jr.)
"A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer." (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

hello......how are you
From your profile, you seem pretty philosophically minded... so I recommend ORTHODOXY but if you like a really good story then any of the Father Brown Stories.... you can pick them up from EBAY for a pound (that's about a million US$ [o]) If you had a safe address, I'd send one to you. All the best to you. Brendan
wow... I can tell a story but trip up on the dialogue. If You're empathetic to a fault try Chess for therapy. If you haven't read more from G K Chesterton, I highly recommend him. Nice thoughtful quotes. All the best. B
