Hi there... Owells... First off.. I'm a Singaporean girl, able to speak both Mandarin and English.. I am HIGHLY proficient in English (I swear) but NOT in Mandarin..
So if you really want to learn Mandarin, my advice is, don't ask me.. Because yea I can teach you the basics and how to hold a conversation in Mandarin, but beyond that, I can't.
Whereas for English, I can. Okay, enough of that now.
What I really want to say is that, I REALLY REALLY REALLY love Japan and all things Japanese, and I really would love to migrate to Japan to live. (Still considering though, because the cost of living there is so much higher than ours..)
Yupz. I really want to meet a SERIoUS language exchange buddy who can teach me Japanese.. And one who can stand me asking ALOT of stuff on Japanese...

YES, I really want to learn only Japanese, but I wouldn't mind just having friendly emails in English with a non-Japanese speaker.

Shiteimasu has two meanings "custom" and "be -ing"
For example,
"Watashi wa nihongo wo benkyou shiteimasu" has mainly two means,I think.
First,I study Japanese and I have a custom that study Japanese.
Second,I am studying Japanese now.
"jibun de" means "by myself" or "all on one's own".
For example,
Watashi wa "jibun de" ryouri shimasu.
I cook "by myself".
