About Me:
art.
what really is art? i mean.. i know my life revolves greatly around art. chances are yours does as well. does art come from the heart, nature surrounding us or the sheer despair humans display in everyday life? you do some art and get critiqued. i absolutely have no right to judge anything but to live life i end up having to give thumbs up and thumbs down. does that make art the colloseum in which us the gladiators fight to get the attention of Caesars? are these lions surrounding us our muse? to sing, paint, write, scream out, chant, dribble, spill, capture a certain mood or a location? something that's just out of reach with our minds?
No. I don't think art should turn into a competition. Art should be more of a collection.. a carnival in which everyone holds hands and is happy. Just showing one another their aspects of life, the medium they use to get their message across. Now if only the world was more like that... But then you have some art which seems soulless to you, hollow, empty, vain. What do you do with them? Do you exclude them? Life is balanced this well it would be pretty difficult to argue at times. Basically we try to get the see-saw to descend towards us but no matter how many of us hop on, it won't budge. Or leading a camel to water but not being able to get it to drink.
(if you read all of that above.. you are incredibly patient haha. awesome too. thanks for putting up with my rantings)
hello hello, I am Ben, 17 years of age. I am a Korean who has spent a decade of his life so far in New Zealand. Art is.. beautiful. I have no right to judge anything but I do so anyways - basically, to sum myself up.. I am a big bundle of contradictions. I mainly write, but sometimes I take a photo or two and doodle in my journal. In the future I'd like to do a lot of volunteer work in South America and Africa but for next year.. I'm hoping to study International Relations, continue learning French and start Spanish and/or Russian or any of the languages above.
I play piano, trombone, harmonica and the occasional guitar. Used to play double bass. I'm usually spotted playing music, according to people I know.. either jamming or just practicing. If music died, I would send myself off to the retirement house, find a grey wig, fabricate a chronic disease.. you get the point. :)
Everyone should listen to Refused. I mean, it's not everyday you get to listen to angry men influenced by anarchists and Marx, making music you just want to swing your arms wildly and do karate moves...

Favorite Quotes:
"I don't see the point in nihilism." - Myself (no BS.. I did come up with that. Chances are someone else already did. But 'til they claim it.. :P)
"btBAM!" - myself (again. i like quoting myself. yes. i have no life. >_<)
"Hey Jesus Christ I'm a little scared to die, so what did you do those three days you were dead? 'Cos this problem's gonna last, more than the weekend." - Jesse Lacey
"Seven simple rules of going into hiding: one, never trust a cop in a raincoat. Two, beware of enthusiasm and of love, both are temporary and quick to sway. Three, if asked if you care about the world's problems, look deep into the eyes of he who asks, he will never ask you again. Four, never give your real name. Five, if ever asked to look at yourself, don't. Six, never do anything the person standing in front of you cannot understand. And finally seven, never create anything, it will be misinterpreted, it will chain you and follow you for the rest of your life." - Arthur Rimbaud
"Can you explain to me, how? How you're so evil" - Chino Moreno
